Hello again SRK members…

It’s been almost a year since our last major Street Fighter tournament. SO… We are happy to bring you a very big (and very delayed) announcement. A large scale gaming event will be taking place at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, WI on May 1st, 2010. The event is called Focus Fire and it will consist of a variety of tournaments being played, most importantly Super Street Fighter IV.

Just in case any of you have forgotten, last year we ran a SFIV tourney on May 30th: http://www.gaminggenerations.com/forum/gaming-generations-1500-lacrosse-wi-sf4-tournament-results-t1006.html

Some G.G. staff members were also at EVO 2009

We will be streaming FOCUS FIRE all day.

1st Important Note: The prizes are still building. More and more businesses are donating towards this event. We are in the middle of working with 2 very large companies that are looking to possibly donate a large amount of cash. If this happens the prizes will sky rocket up. We should know full details by next week.

2nd Important Note: This event is 100% free. That’s right, it costs $0 to enter this event and all other events going on this day.

3rd Important Note: This event will be taking place at the La Crosse Center. This means we have 15,000 sq. ft. to work with in just the arena alone. Check out pictures: http://www.gaminggenerations.com/forum/sneak-peak-focus-fire-tournament-area-la-crosse-center-t1548.html

4th Important Note: The La Crosse Center will have their concession stand open all day and into the night. They will be serving alcohol to all who are over 21 (I suppose this should be the 1st important note).

5th Important Note: You may play in other tournaments that are taking place at Focus Fire. So if Street Fighter isn’t your main game, then you can enter another tournament or try and win misc. prizes from vendor’s.

6th Important Note: Sign ups are from 9a.m. - 12 noon Sat. May 1st @ La Crosse Center box office & the tournament starts at 2p.m. Please note this tournament is limited to 128 players. You will be able to practice on the screens before the tournament starts.

7th Important Note: If you would like to bring your own setup (BYOS), meaning t.v. gaming system and controllers to practice on while you wait to play in the tournament or to host side tournaments on, feel free to! We will have extra tables setup for this reason.

This is a great event to help tune up your skills for the Midwest Championships 2010 on May 8th & 9th in Chicago!

The Focus Fire event schedule can be found here: http://gaminggenerations.com/images/focus_fire_event/focus_fire_schedule_final_2.txt

All of the prizes below are 100% guaranteed.

Any questions, PM me.

SHOOT FREE i hear FREE! lol thats a lot of money for free! nice COUNT ME IN if the cousins wedding is canceled =P

I always like free. Not to mention I can get to practice my Dudley.

ill probably go but suuuuuper late notice for everyone. its next week saturday.

Agreed, we were waiting on at least one larger business to donate a good chunk of cash towards the event. Wanted to be able to list a good guaranteed prize before I posted.

But hey, short notice means not as many people showing up. Not as many people showing up means you’ve got a better chance of winning.

true but i want to go against better comp so woulda been better with more. i have a feeling its still gonna be packed

you say a variety of tournaments but all i see is street fighter, unless there’s another tournaments going on for madden or halo or other dumb shit that day

No need to worry about this event, you’ve got your own going on @ THA CENTA…

To all people who plan on attending, please read “Important Note 7” at the top.

We have a TON of events going on this day that requires a lot of staff. We would love to host more fighting tournaments, but to do all of this in 1 day would require more man power and equipment, which we do not have.

So, we encourage Street Fighter enthusiasts to bring their own setups & run some side tournaments. We have allocated a lot of space for this.

Some new added bonuses:

We will have a MAME arcade running great Street Fighter classics all day, & of course a little MVC.
We will have an original Tekken 3 arcade (old school, but amazing game).
We will have a few extra setups with some different fighting games.

Awww SNAP! Free and you can win all that stuff. Craziness I’m there and I’m winning everything I put my hands and eye’s on…heck I might even take that costume contest prize…one word…Black Cammy.

But this is a once in a year chance to hang out with the western wisconsinites. I can even help load coal into the generator to keep the 360’s running all day.

Hahaha, I’ll have to agree with you on that one, 360’s do pretty much blow. But they are easy to fix at least.

We do what we can down here in southern WI to keep gaming exciting. Bunch of hicks is what we are compared to you Chicago folk. But I am happy to say you can walk down the street at 2a.m. and not worry about a thang.

Anyways, getting side tracked here, back to the tournament. The more we talk Syxx, the more our thread will be right on top

“Coal generator” that was nice, lol and all that. I’m from Chi too actually…wait…wait does that say Gurnee, IL? HA that’s basically La Crosse, Wi with a six flags and a bigger mall ya butt douche.

hahaha… i wanna meet the western wisconsinites and minnesota ppl too. where my hmong peeps at. i know ya live in la crosse/stevens point

Well, I’m from Minnesota. Hmong, White, Black, Asian, purple green you name it are coming to this event!

yeah that area is definately hmong country

hide your ps1 controllers and copies of tekken 5

:frowning:

lol. funny shit man. still cant get over it. i know stealing is wrong but it was an isolated incident. were all not bad, just them thieving ass ppl thats it. Oh yeah, is hdr or ST gonna be run there too

Im suprised noone is Hyped about this guys! ITS FREE and you are able to WIN $600 plus prizes! i guess free isnt good enough these days…

i think its the fact that it was announced super late. My bro n I r coming from milwaukee but idk anyone else. Is there gonna be HDR or ST there

If you want to bring gear, you’re more than welcome to play whatever you like… we don’t have enough staff/equipment to do anymore…

We’ve got nearly 50 Xboxes and displays committed to various games.

i would but even a 20in tv cant fit in my car. Thats what happens when u buy the car u want without thinking about what can fit in it. DAmn u MAZDA. I’d really like to run HDR or ST so if anyone can bring a TV i can bring a 360 with hdr
