too short of notice plus it’s like the week after ssfiv comes out, people have had shit planned for months and months, meanwhile you come out like 2 weeks before this is going down before something is finally announced.

If I remember correctly SRK is for the fighting fan enthusiasts. For us to offer a free tournament with kick ass prizes, man you’ve gotta know that we are dedicated fans.
We are making absolutely $0 on this event, in fact we are losing $5000+ after all of our expenses for this thing. All for the love of video games.
I’m just shocked at how people are so quick to complain. But this is no different than last year. I’ve come to expect this from a few members on SRK. Talking big on these forums, looking for some loop hole so they can talk shit. The best part is people that are not even going to attend the event hop on and talk trash.

Also no one is trippin about ur event. Its just that we were given one week notice and there were other tournaments that day. Ill be there but no ones saying they won’t go cuz u gave late notice. Its good to have a free tournament without having to pay for venue/registration fees.

relax, this is a 5 year old inside wisconsin scene joke. i don’t have anything against hmongs or any asians. I lived in Japan for a year before my senior year of high school and even dated and took a girl who was hmong to senior prom. Also I hang out with hmong people at just about every tournament because it’s wisconsin after all.
also no one is complaining about this tournament, but you guys seem to wonder why there’s hardly any response to it. i’m only explaining that you waited way too long when many other organizers had plans to hold an event the same weekend after super came out. I wouldn’t worry because you got a shit load of people to show up last time but to be honest i think this time you are only get people locally and from minnesota. but maybe if you are lucky you will get a spattering of people from milwaukee and other areas.
We were not expecting to pull in Marn, PerfectSin & other distant players for this tournament like we were at last year’s event.
This year we are hoping to get more locals involved. Last year the $20 buy in price scared to many people away.
Like I said in one of my first posts, we knew over a month ago we were gonna have Super Street Fighter IV be a part of Focus Fire. We didn’t want to post on here until we knew for sure what the prizes would be. Once we had the guaranteed cash, I posted.
Already almost 500 hits on this thread, hopefully we get some players to come to this thing.
We have 15,000+ square feet to work with, that tops most gaming tournament area’s. The more players that show up the merrier.
