How ugly the old stick looked with those sides was enough to make me almost order a HRAP instead of the TE.
Then the “S” stick became available for order and the decision became a lot more obvious (yay for a common ground PCBs), even with the ugly 360-colored buttons that will eventually be replaced.

well after much debating I decided to pull the trigger and get a new TE ‘S’ stick for the 360. by the way, Amazon is still the best deal around for about $132 free shipping and no tax.
My previous Madcatz product was a PS3 TE round 1 stick, which has been flawless. from design to performance, it really was worth the $150.
It took so much debating this time around because of a few reasons: 1. what the FUCK were they thinking when they decided to color code the buttons on the 360 version? it looks like shit compared to the PS3’s. 2. many incidences of reported sharp edges causing discomfort. 3. some reported PCB issues.
can’t give it a full review until i get the stick, but i really hope that there won’t be any issues, otherwise i’ll switch to Hori for life.
Why does everyone dislike the button colors? I think it’s new and unique. Sexy even.
to me they don’t match the background and just looks out of place. the EX-SE stick did something similar but theirs came out way more attractive. i’ll be selling my buttons, so look for them in the trading outlet.

My TE-S finally came.
The bad news is that there’s a fairly deep scratch on the A button. It feels worse than it looks, but it visibly it appears like it was gouged as opposed to simply being a fine scratch. There’s also a defect in the plexi above the buttons, but it’s small (about the size of a normal tip of a ball-point pen) and it probably would have taken me a while to notice it if it weren’t for the button making me look for other problems.

i just bought an “S” TE and im glad i read this thread before i opened it. after i post this, it will be returned at gamestop. standard edition it is. sliced wrists it aint.

Just curious, but do you play with the stick in your lap? If so I can understand why a sharp edge wouldn’t bother you.
