I’m having kind of the same problem here. I’m running on a low end rig, a MSI Wind U270 (1.6Ghz dual core + HD 6310 ; 4GB DDR3 ; Win7 64), but the game plays fine at 60-75 FPS with the background stage off or the training stage on, 800x480 and Models on high. Not your ideal visual experience, but gameplay wise, the game still rocks !
Well, that’s for the offline part. Playing solo, the game runs fine, I can combo with my Dudley as much as I want too (or should I say “capable of”). But when I start an online match, I can’t go faster than 40-45 FPS, even with everything low, models included. It’s kinda playable, but not enough to progress combo wise.
I thought of 2 causes : GFWL weighting too heavy on my low end CPU power, or AMD PowerPlay (GPU frequencies scaling) problem. I still can’t figure which one is the real culprit, but what I know is that I played online for 4 hours straight a week ago (just after getting the game) WITH 60 FPS ALL ALONG !
I really can’t figure out this problem on my own, having tried everything I could think of (blocking my GPU in 3D mode ; can’t do on this laptop - changing drivers ; didn’t work - reinstall GFWL). I could try to reinstall the game, and/or delete my GFWL profile from it (as suggested on the previous page). Or just give up and hope for a miraculous patch while playing @40 FPS online…>_<
What do you think ? Does anyone have a clue on this ?
Thanks a lot !
I dunno why people insist on gaming on a crappy computer. Time for an upgrade bro.
Hey, “bro”, if it’s all you’re going to say, just shut up would you ? I have excellent reasons preventing me from getting a better rig right now, and I got the game as a present from someone I care about, and with whom I wish to play with from time to time while being abroad.
So, anyone have a real idea here ? I would be thankful for any kind of advice
Ok, good news on my part. I just tried again somewhere else, where I have wired access on the Internet, and I got a perfect rock solid 60 FPS online (even won my match with a crappy pad instead of my joystick, left at home).
I’ll try again tomorrow with wireless. The thing is, it worked once perfectly with it, so I’m still not convinced about the origin of my problem… but hope’s there again
PLEASE add this to the stickies for this thread. This may solve some issues with people who cannot use both their keyboard and joystick when they launch SSF4 AE PC post-patch. I don’t know if this applies to the standalone retail version, but I only have the Steam version of the game, so I can’t verify if it’s necessary for retail.
If you’re having this problem and you have X-Fire and the Steam version of SSF4 AE, DISABLE X-FIRE IN-GAME FOR SSF4 AE.
Explanation:
My friend and I, both running Windows 7, were unable to get the joystick or keyboard to work post-July 11 patch on the Steam version of SSF4 AE. He was using an old PS2 to USB Radio Shack converter with the native Windows drivers, while I was using a Mayflash Super Dual Box Pro. We were tearing our hair out trying to get it to work. My friend was able to get GFWL to launch somehow, and he was getting a “Region not supported” error (even though we’re both in the US) when he tried signing in. Some googling indicated that X-Fire is the culprit of this issue, so we disabled X-Fire In Game. Not only did this fix the the “region not supported” error, but also FIXED OUR KEYBOARD AND STICK ISSUE.
Sounds like X-Fire, GFWL, and Steam (or some combination of the two) don’t like each other. You don’t have to completely disable detection for SSF4AE, just make it so that the X-Fire Ingame is disabled. This, of course, kinda makes X-Fire pointless to have for this game, but since I play in windowed mode, it’s a small inconvenience, if anything.
^ you sir are a genius. Fixed my keyboard issue as well.
If I run the game with Vsync on, I don’t get input delays, but the game stutters and chokes like shit. Frames are not smooth at all times, and the game stutters a lot for no reason at all. It always runs smooth when I just open it, and after 2 or 3 matches, it stars stuttering.
Vsync off, the game flows perfectly, just like in console, but there’s a LOT of input delay.
I’m on a Madcatz TE R1 btw. Also, running a i5 notebook with 4GB RAM and a GeForce GT540M. Should be more than enough, no?
Also, why the hell do I keep getting people who has E benchmark scores if my score is A? Isn’t the damn system supposed to filter people who has the same benchmark score as I do?
So, what gives? Why’s this port shit? Why does Capcom suck so much?
Thanks in advance for anyone who replies =/.
Problem solved !
The culprit was… the audio jack cable plugged in without the Realtek audio manager turned on. I’m actually playing sound on external speakers, but I also have the habit off turning down any Realtek audio crap program starting with windows. Without the program turned on, playing online+wifi on the netbook speakers got me a 60 FPS, and if I plugged a jack cable, the FPS dropped to 35. With the program on, no problem at all. Not so crappy after all, then :learningeveryday:
Anyway, let’s go punch some faces online classy style
Hey guys, I was just wondering if there is a way to set it so that individual character themes play during versus instead of the stage themes. I’ve looked in the options, and I’ve even tried playing arcade mode and having a friend join in but its always the stage music. Any insight would be great. Thanks!
Its an unlockable, you might have to beat arcade mode 1st or something to unlock it(not sure), same with the eng and jp voices per charater
Anybody got a solution to the slowdown in endless after the second match ? A friend of mine has this and it´s really annoying, cause we can´t play endless at all.
is there character bgm music for pc? I cant find the option.
You have to beat arcade mode first.
thx
going to that now
Hi anyone knows where to download the patch for the retail version of the game?
And I’m currently using a joytron king of fighters stick (compatible with ps3 and pc) for AE. As other people have mentioned, AE doesnt register the joystick movement, only the buttons. So as a solution im using xpadder which works fine but its not optimal. Any solutions for this? Thanks alot
So I try to turn vsync off. If I turn it off then go back to graphics settings, it shows at is being off. But either way, I get the eternal load screen. That is, if I do the benchmark it says “loading”, if I do training or a match the vs. screen comes up and then stays there. Even more crazy, it will show the computers fighting each other at press start screen?!
When I close the game (either through alt+tabbing and closing or through doing it regular way, which makes it crash) and then go back in, the settings are back to what they were before with Vsync on. Frames are on fixed rate.
I’ve reinstalled DX and GFWL like they asked, also reinstalled game, also didn’t start happening 'til patch. Updated NVidia drivers. GTX560/i7/win7, computer can run it.
Capcom thread is huge and I can’t find any discussion on this anywhere. Everyone’s issues are similar to mine but not quite what mine are. I have also logged in and out of GFWL
Anyone got any ideas?
Just a wild guess but if you’re ntfs you might want to make sure you have ownership and all rights switched on for SYSTEM and Administrators, and then have the “Run as administrator” compatibility tickbox active as well before running the game.
Thanks. I am the admin. It’s on Steam, incidentally.
