Yea that makes no sense, the game doesnt speed up past 60fps, it only slows down if the a comp cant handle it.
It happens so rarely that when it does I just play it as a kind of fun slo-mo effect for the game and then move on and join another lobby.

So the pc version never runs above 60 fps, ever? My comment is not about slow downs but just two different machines running the game at two different fps.

When playing online each frame is sent to the host frame by frame. If extra frames are being sent, then those are not being accounted for then it creates lag. This goes for any online game. A game doesnt have to slow down to be laggy. It can simply be not in synch and there is no way for it to match up without controlling the settings.

To feel this effect, change the graphic settings so that you run at a really high fps. Then change it so that it runs around 60 fps or so. Make sure you play someone on your friend’s list to try to keep consistency in network connections. There will be a difference in overall feel that is not related to performance lag (pc slowing down) , but in network lag between 2 individuals.

Sorry, havent had such a problem and neither has Vulpes. You asked who agrees with you on this, and we do not.
Also no desire to mess with settings to try and create that.

Your framerate should be set to FIXED for best compatability.:tup:

That is fine. My point is that the pc version would benefit if the fps was locked at the exact rate for both users like how it is for console and arcade.
Also, I already know about setting the framerate to Fixed as oppose to the other options.

I do understand it your problem… I have a powerful PC “A Rank” (with fixed frames) and when your playing someone with a “C Rank” PC rating… their ghetto PC is so ass that it skips frames to keep it in sync. I think thats what your referring to. Theres nothing that can be done except for them to get a better machine.

i get A on the benchmark but everytime a fireball is on screen I get ugly slowdowns any help?

Haven’t found anything regarding this so far.

I’m using a MadCatz 360 TE stick and its working perfectly. But as soon as I log into GFWL it doesn’t recognise my upwards input (and just upwards) anymore. I’ve tried everything I could imagine safe for a reinstall.
Has anyone heard of something similar or knows how to fix it?

Try turning off vsync and setting your framerate to fixed.

Hey, I have this really strange crash that happens when I’ve noticed I’ve gotten when I play against Ibuki players. This hasn’t happened when any person picks anyone other than Ibuki, but sometimes it doesn’t even happen.

I start the fight and BOOM it crashes. I have no idea why this keeps happening, but I’d really like to know what’s up with this.

My computer honestly has no problem playing any current gen game at all, so this is weird.

If you have custom costume mods, see the PC custom skin thread, ibuki and others have had thier costume files updated with 2012 and it can cause a game crash. I posted the fix over there - its an easy file copy.

Anyone else notice we didn’t get the update we were promised?

We got the original AE v2012 instead of the patched version that consoles have.
Wanna see it for yourself? Do a Dragon Punch while standing on the car (No more then 3 attempts should be required to glitch the game)

I still can’t get the pc version to play online consistenly. last week it went online once or twice…and then it just stopped as usual. YOU MUST SIGN IN TO GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE

i downloaded gfwl, logged into that…still can’t play sf4ae online. i hate pc games but my ps3 version of AE is laggy…i might buy an xbox

So I’ve had AE PC since the day it released and have had no performance slow downs or antying. However, in the last couple days I’ve had some issues with slowdown randomly. Basically, the only thing I’ve installed in the last week is LoL and I doubt that has anything to do with it. But I have a feeling that maybe it has something to do with the latest patch. The reason I say that is because I played AE PC the day before it dropped and it was performing fine. however, last night was the first time I’ve gone to play it since the patch and these issues have arisen. My benchmark is still high at about 120 FPS, but the gameplay is randomly dipping during actions. These issues are occurring when on non-online matches. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. I’m playing on Steam.

had the same problem (a-rank, more than 120 frames but laggy when someone is doing a hadoken). for me it helped perfectly to lower the setting “particles” from high to mid.

mine is low :frowning: sometimes single fireball there is no slowdown but a spamming hadoken ryu makes the game so slow.

my pc: ssf4 ae 2012 got sound at the intro page, but after i sign in to windows live and enter the main page, the scrolling sound n the internal ssf4 sound including those “punch” sound are mute… but when i hit home button, i can still hear the windows live sound.

what is wrong, i tried the method at page1 still doesn’t fix it. i think 1 of the update screwed up the audio, used to be got sound before this…

I just had a game where my Gen would not move, even though I mashed all the buttons.
The replay also showed, that I mashed but the character didn’t move.
This occured two times in the second round.
What was that?

Hey all,
I’m having an issue where if I select JP voice for the cutscenes have no audio and more importantly the game will not load.
This happened both before and after the 2012 patch.

Sorry if a fix for this has already been posted, I searched for this issue, but found nothing.
