Who can punish block Blanka ball? Everyone? How?

I know e.honda can headbutt it, and I suspect balrog can punch him, but what does everyone else have?

Dic can do a feirce psycho crusher
Dee Jay can do a feirce fire ball
Blanka can do a feirce blanka ball
Boxer can use his rush moves
Claw can walk > feirce
Dhalsim can do far feirce or roundhouse

That’s all I can remember for now.

Everyone but Ken, Chun, Zangief, Hawk and Guile can do it. Blocking the ball while standing helps, particularly for NSagat and DJ, IIRC.

There is something weird I noticed with boxer’s super : sometimes the second hit will last more time than the others, which allows the blocking opponent to counter (I’ve seen people do a reversal flashkick, dp or super after the second hit). I’m sure lot of people already noticed that and my question is does that happen under specific circumstances or is it completely random ?

Chun can do super, if she has the meter.

It happens when the opponent is in the corner and Boxer is about 2/3rds the screen away. He will pause either after the second or third punch, depending on the distance. The gap is actually quite big, so you do not need a reversal to beat it.

iirc old and new Sagat can do RH Tiger, unless that’s my HSF experience talking =x

OSagat can throw one RH tiger at Blanka and another at Blanka’s mom all before the beast hits the ground. “Jimmy! Ow!”

One note for Blanka players: even when you’re facing an opponent who can block(hit) and counter the fierce ball you still might not want to put it out of your mind completely. The thing does enough damage that using it in trades generally leaves Blanka ahead. Trading hits with Vega’s low strong (that is: blanka balls into the claw, psychic style) is good example of this. It’s a desperate trick but…

I agree, it’s good to use it from time to time to catch the opponent off guard. I also use it to counter tick throw attempts, very effective.

Yes, I do as well. I call it “Point Blanka.”

Another thing to note for those that like to block Blanka balls and counter hit…

…watch out for the roll into bite. I like to bait people into thinking that I will just do a fierce ball and I’ll take the counter hit to put them in the frame of mind that they can counter me anytime. Then later in the match I do the same thing but this time I medium ball into bite and then the fun begins.

Anyone here have experience with the PC port of SSF2T? I was flawed when I first saw it for sale all those years a go. How was the port? I don’t think I have read too much about it on this forum.

I’ve only heard bad things about the PC port, can’t give you details though. But there’s no need to worry about it now that we have arcade perfect emulation of the game.

The PC arranged OST was too good though

The PC port of ST wasn’t that good. I remember downloading a patch for 1.0 version from gametek. Fixed over like 100+ bugs or something, some of them retarded ass bugs (game crashing, unblockable moves, etc). The only reason to get it was for the music which ended up being in AE anyway

Hey, can anyone tell me about Guile vs Boxer? I have trouble fighting good boxers with Guile, and I don’t know if it’s just a bad match for him, or if there’s something really obvious that I’m missing…

Guile vs Boxer is not that easy. You really have to keep him away, because if the gets close he has so many possibilities it isn’t funny (I think that hold true for most characters, not only Guile. The basic strategy is to throw a sonic boom, then watch for his reaction. You must have an awnser for everything he does. One very good tool to use is the backfist because it can counter his jumps or nail him in the recovery of his headbutts from afar. The key is to be far enough to limit his possibilities as much as possible, but close enough to be able to counter what he does. This is just a simple description of course, I didn’t cover everything but this should get you started.

AE’s soundtrack was actually the music from the 3DO version, and I THINK the disk version of PC ST. The CD version had much better music: probably the best in-game version of those classic themes.

What’s the arcade perfect emulation?
