Rock music similar to sf2 would be good. They should also put in some good drum n bass similar to 3s.
no THIS needs to be the theme song.

I don’t care what kind of music is in as long as they keep the chorus change feature (different parts of the song play depending on your vitality and when you use Ultra). I think it’s a really cool twist on the standard BGM.
I liked the sfiv music.
I have mixed feeling about the SF4 music…
I generally like the compositional aspects of the new songs. The volcano stage and drive-in stage have, what i would consider, generally very good melodies. I like some of the new character themes, abel’s and viper’s are both cool. I think a lot of the stage music has a decent amount of merit for the genre they were going for.
**
However, where the problem lies for me is here: I have major problems with both some of the instrument choices, as well as the quality of the synths used in many of the songs.** With that being said, i have nothing against the use of soft-synth/VST/etc, for the use of electronic music genres. Midi-based digital instruments have their merits in some situations and I certainly think that it is perfectly fine to use them in many different contexts.
The biggest issue i have is some of the awful choices of soft-synths. My prime examples being zangief’s theme, sakura’s theme, and ken’s theme… Solo brass and string synths RARELY sound even remotely acceptable to use in a final recording. If you want to use them as compositional place-holders while you are writing the song that’s a legitimate use. The sakura song isn’t bad at all, aside from the fact that the synth violin line is so awful and cheesy sounding that it makes a travesty out of a cool and nostalgic theme. The same thing applies even more so to the god-awful horrendous brass line in giefs theme. Comparing the quality of the various instruments to the music in HDremix, SF4 falls very short. I’d choose the ken’s theme menu music from HDR over the terrible remix of ken’s song in SF4 any day. Same thing with many of the themes unfortunately.
Capcom: if you can’t afford to pay a local session musician a little cash to come in and record a 3 minutes solo part, at least choose a different synth to use that doesn’t sound so bad.
I also really feel that the mixing quality of a lot of the songs are kind of weak. Some of the songs don’t have that powerful low-end that a lot of really bumping electronic music has. I’m kind of a noob to electronic music myself, but i know that powerful drums and bass that work well together are the backbone of that style. Some of the tunes in SF4 just don’t have it. A lot of the music in SF4 just feels sort of compressed and narrow.

**Overall, i think the SF4 music is better ‘on paper’ than it is the way it is currently realized. I think if they spent a little more time recording some real instruments and sampling them into the songs instead of using bad-quality synths, and if they spent more time thinking about the mixes, the songs would be really great. There are still, in my opinion, a lot of great new songs and themes in the game that are 100% worthy to be in the long heritage of awesome SF music from 3s to ST. I think many of these songs get a bad wrap because people react negatively to some of the cheesy sounding synth qualities, whether they realize it or not. **
If they were to release an OST of the music re-made with high-quality VSTs as well as samples of real-life instruments where applicable i think it would turn out really well and i would buy it in a heartbeat.
I’ll probably get slated for this, but i honestly think Street Fighter’s sountrack has never been as good as the original Street Fighter 2 CPS1 system music, (world warrior, champion edition, hyper fighting).
I know it’s old, and lo-fi, and sounds crap by comparison with newer stuff, but the compositions in the games that followed never seemed to add the sense of excitement to a 1 on 1 fight that the original music did. Super Street fighter on CPS2 added arranged music, and was, IMO, a slightly more complex but less exciting version of the original soundtrack, and every version since then (with the possible exception of some of Alpha 3’s music-ryu stage FTW) just didn’t have that “kick” that the world warrior’s soundtrack had. It’s almost as if more memory space for music in games allowed capcom to explore more and fit more in, instead of keeping it simple and effective, which worked perfectly for me.
Ryu always got all the best themes…

Anyways, Super Street fighter 4 should have character specific stages, and allow customisable soundtracks that can be set per each stage. Capcom could release a paid DLC of the entire back catalogue of street fighter stage music remastered to coincide with the release of Super IV, and allow anybody that had any niggles about the game music to simply re-assign it. I would happily play 5 or 10 bucks extra not to be driven around the bend after listening to “INDESTRUCTIBLE…DON’T LET NOBODY DRAG YOU DOWN” for months on end AGAIN.:looney:
Does anyone else thinks the “bring the beat back” music is a contender for the games main theme? It fitted that trailer really well.
I hope so. It was pretty catchy, all things considered. Maybe it was just because I was so psyched to see the trailer.
I actually thought it might be Cody’s theme.
Sounds pretty beast though, either way. Do want.
I’d rep you for the Orgasmo theme if I could. That movie was hilarious and the theme was the best part.
They need more remix themes like the OC Remixes used in HD Remix. I’d like for the themes remixed to be from games other than SFII though.
For example, Ken’s 3S theme, Ryu’s A3 theme, Guile’s EX theme, Akuma’s XvSF theme (or make the remix sound more like it), Gen’s A3 theme, Chun’s 3S theme, etc. I want Cody’s A3 theme.
What little I’ve heard of Dee Jay, T. Hawk and Juri’s themes sound awesome. Turn the Beat Back sounded pretty good too.
Hopefully there will be cool customization options for the music, like choosing between stage and character themes, or integrated customization, kind of like how EA did it with NCAA '09.
I’m not quite sure where it would fit in, because the “bring the beat back” lyrics only showed up around Cody’s segment, and the music shifted for each character. My guess is that this arrangement isn’t what the actual character themes will sound like, but more of a background beat to tie them together for this trailer.
Found something like ‘turn the beat back’.

it’s more like a Trance/Goa version of it.
The same lyric can still be heard at parts, though.
This post wins the thread.
I’m thinking about using to replace the song on pc actually… So good.
I must know if will be/ is in the soundtrack. It seems to be a remix, but a dang nice one.
Edit: Holy jesus, I really need to learn to read.
Double edit: Am I the only one who liked Indestructible? I’ll agree that it wasn’t THE BEST SONG EVAR, but there’s just something about it that I love.
Considering it’s the themes for each of those chars spliced in, it’s most likely that char themes are in for everyone. I’d bet money on it.
Juri and Hawk’s themes sound like they’ll be dope especially.
I think it’s part of codys theme, because it plays when Cody is “drawn”, and when the other characters are drawn, their music plays.
if there is char specific stages/music, i hope they bring back killing moon for akuma.
That theme always got me pumped for rushdown

actually i find it helpfull for creative thinking, i even lissten to it from time to time when i just sit around analyzing or thinking.
You know how when you’ve got someone down to ~ 20% health and the music goes into a “danger mode” type transition? Could someone remind me of whether or not that happened every round, or if it only happened when someone was in danger of losing the match? I ask because if t happens every round then that’s another thing they need to change. If no one is about to actually get eliminated then the music should just stay normal. It’s silly to me for the music to transition in Round 1. The whole point of changing the music is to match the intensity of the moment, and there’s a little something lost on that if the person it’s playing for isn’t about to lose his quarter.
As for the music I’m all but positive that the remixed character themes will play a much bigger role. If SSFIV is abut the fans I’m quite sure they’re gonna do something here because this seems to be a ubiquitous request.
