The synth-ridden, dance/trance/house drums-infested soundtrack has got to go and make place for authentic instruments. Except for Viper’s theme, that one was good. Listening to Ken’s theme is like getting a hard-on when you look at a girl’s ass, only to realize she has a fucked up face. Gief’s theme was, sexy, I admit.
The stage themes are relatively good in composition compared to the character themes.
I’m also tired of the same 1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2 rhythms. It’s called creativity, and the other is called effort, ffs
No offense to the respective genres, but honestly, get it out of my Street Fighter, or get it to work properly.
Stage specific songs (each character should also be assigned their own stage. What is up with them being all neutral?) and just better music overall is one of my top requests for the game.
For the love of all, the character themes should actually be in 2-player matches. As it is, you only hear the awesome character thems in lobbies, Arcade Mode rival fights, and challenge mode. That’s ridiculous.
Gief’s theme on a saxophone is SO SEXY. I want to actually hear it during a fight.
They could play Hanson tracks on every stage as far as I’m concerned so long as the “INDESTRUCTABLE” theme song gets blasted straight to hell.
Lotsa good ideas though about remixing classic SF2 themes =) I loved the SF2 soundtrack (though I’m prob biased as that’s the one I really cut my SF teeth on).
As long as they keep the Underpass theme I’m good. Best BGM in the game and can actually work as a valid new Sakura theme. (The Underpass stage is essentially Sakura’s personal stage, based off of old SF Alpha 2 official character art of Sakura hanging out in the same location.)
Anyway I’d be very happy if they just just used those arcade mode rival themes as the main ones, then perhaps had remixes or themes from other games as unlockables. Being able to unlock God Rugal’s theme or Jazzy NYC would be nice. Couldn’t hurt to have a custom soundtrack as well when you’re fed up of hearing the music.
Any word on whether the main title theme will be changed? It wouldn’t have been so bad if not for the initial singing. I’ll take the SFIII rap any day over SFIV’s boy band pop.
