his speed will suffer for sure but he may have power to back it up, I can see chars like fox and falcon giving him trouble but his keep away game will solid, I kind of see him like olimar mixed with Rob

Megaman’s greatest weakness is Capcom.
Our boy Mega Man will be just fine. We all saw in his reveal trailer that he was taking a beating for a bit. Then he tapped into his Robot Master weapons and started dishing out the hurt. Those Nintendo characters weren’t ready for that. Mario got the coins nicked out of him with a toss of the Metal Blade and Link is lucky his Hylian Shield didn’t break. Even the Hard Knuckle looks like it isn’t something you wanna screw with. And Top Sin. TOP SPIN is an ability where you don’t take damage. And Flame Blast looks like it will hurt anyone unfortunate enough to be anywhere near Rock from all sides. Yeah, I still got wood from that trailer and I’m still hyped.
I don’t give a damn. Rock could be bottom of the bottom tier and I’ll still play as him. I’ve been one of the loudest voices concerning Capcom’s blatant disrespect of him. Best believe I’ll represent him all I can in Smash.

OK, so that last bit could easily be taken out of context. Some people might think he’s hinting at Ridley being playable.
I’m pretty much expecting Ridley to show up…grab a player and CHEESEGRATE HIS FACE AGAINST SIDES OF THE ARENA.
Yeah, I think that stage is based off of Other M, so Ridley should be popping up to cause havoc at any moment. The real question is does Sakurai remember Anthony Higgs?

Obvious jokes about Other M aside the stage looks pretty cool.
Well, I wasn’t meaning to imply any of that was a bad thing. Just the idea of it being a chest-height red field with a face poking out of it made me think of the Aliens chest-bursting creatures first and foremost; probably not 100% accurate but it has been a very long time since I saw anything from those films. …Perhaps I should rectify that this weekend.
Edit 2: Also, I didn’t even see the hot pocket post; sorry about that! The error has since been corrected.
Now, as for the quote about how an enemy from Samus’ past could appear at any second? Remember, that could be a character hint, or… or it could be a hint about what stage hazards it has. Can you imagine Ridley or so on as a stage hazard? I can. Can you imagine Sakurai trolling us with this, like he did with Assist Trophy reveals for Lyn and Little Mac? I can.
Edit: As far as it being an Other M stage goes… I actually thought the game played okay for its bizarre self-imposed control limitations. I thought this part could have been better, but I found it tolerable. What killed it for me was the story. At least it gave us that neat ‘Samus does a thumbs-down’ pic though; useful as a forum reaction image.

This stage looks beautiful. I want to see it in motion! I wonder if you’ll have to switch planes at some point. In the other pic, they were on the red plane.
Oh nice, so it’s a Pilotwings/Sports Resort mashup stage? I hope that’s not the only mashup in the game.
Now that is a stage I can’t wait to see in motion, I can only imagine what they have planned once you get closer to the island.
