All these Wii Fit Trainer avs you guys are rocking got me opening dem incognitos tabs.
Is it bad judgment to assume that we could have more than 2 FE reps this time around? I would kill to see Lyn in the game since she basically introduced a continent of gamers to the FE franchise. Also, it would be nice to have more female characters.
Infernoman: I suspect the ponytail would be all he gets. It’s enough to make clear what he got (few other characters, if any, have WFT’s hairstyle AND color)… and Nintendo of America would probably balk at the ‘crossdressing’ thing, even in a relatively ‘tame’ depiction like this. Yes, you know it’s not really a problem and I know that, but we’re talking about a company that rejects the use of “bastard!” in Fire Emblem games yet lets bandit gangs in those same games openly laugh about how they like to abduct and sell women.
That sex trafficking would be far, far harder to explain to Little Timmy than profanity would be when he comes across this while playing Fire Emblem Awakening has somehow not dawned on anyone at NOA. Hell, they haven’t figured this out since Fire Emblem 7 on the Gameboy Advance.
So yeah, I’m going to presume NOA freaks on the sports bra part and insists on going with just the hair. This is pessimistic, but Nintendo’s censorship policies have shown that’s a reasonable expectation.
the most I ever seen them get away with was in Advance Wars:DoR on DS. Using Damn/Crap and mentioning merc work for money/women plus 3 characters in game get killed with the player knowing it was gunshot to the head although it was offscreen. I dunno their censorship seems random at times.
The OG DK64 DK rap used Hell in the opening rap (game was rated E) but in the Smash:Melee game (which was rated T for teen) got the Hell in the OG rap replaced with Heck…odd
