Super Smash Bros. General - Patience and Spacing....or Whine and Moan

You assume Nintendo’s decisions have to make sense.

They can easily give him three. Dixie Kong was suppose to be in Brawl and she will be a playable character in the new DK game. The likelihood of her being in is high

Enough about the characters.

What do you guys want to see in terms of Items and Stages?

I want the assist trophies to return, and I also want some returning stages from all previous smash games. Some stages are just irreplaceable and fantastic from a design standpoint.

I’d like to see a mario party themed stage.

I’d like to see the 64 FD theme come back.

dont care about items dont play with them, as for stages. Moving stages are just annoying.

How about a stage like how SMBWiiU has with the tablet? Someone with the tablet could either help or hurt others by putting platforms around the stage.

Dk is getting a new game, DK is being used a lot more these days, the only villain who consistently shows up is K.Rool. K. Rool makes sense.

Golden Sun got a brand new game on the DS, he was an assist trophy that looked like an unfinished character model. Smash tends to add the “first” hero of a series (Ness, Marth) regardless of new installments.

Starfy recently started getting his games shipping worldwide, what better marketing push then a Smash appearance? Also, he was an assist trophy.

Seriously though jokes aside the whole size argument of characters in Nintendo games is stupid, all their key characters have been changing sizes constantly over the past 20-30 years that they’ve been around to the point that they’re still adjusting them to this day.

Items? Gust Jar from Skyward Sword to blow your opponents off the stage. Doesn’t do much damage and it’s slow to angle but the gust is strong enough to blow them halfway maybe?

Maybe include the Ice Flower and give characters some limited freezing capabilities…or hell if we wanna make it even more entertaining then put in the Penguin Suit. Ha…DK in a penguin suit.

Blue Shell…gift and a curse. If you’re in the lead you better not touch it but you can’t let anyone else get it either. If they do touch it you can make the others regret it by running over to where they are and having it come down on both of you. Item is dodgeable of course but you have to be on point just like in the Mario Kart games.

Assist Trophy character: Fawful…if he doesn’t make the cut as a playable character. Seriously PUT THIS MADMAN IN THIS GAME SOMEWHERE. He will spread the mustard of everyone’s doom on the stage and fill it full of chortles. THERE WILL BE FURY.

Assist Trophy character: Thwomp…he comes out and raises himself above where he was summoned and sits there and waits…You already know what he’s waiting for. If opponent is hit in the air then it’s a two fold combo from the hit and then from being flattened, Grounded hit just flattens and does probably around 15-25% depending on whether you got the Blue Thwomp or the old school spiky gray thwomp. Flattend status lasts for a few seconds before you return to normal and causes your jump height to get cut back by about 1/4. Dodgeable in air easily and can be roll dodged on the ground but cannot be standing dodged.

Assist Trophy character: Rambi the Rhino…He comes out and proceeds to give everyone the horn who isn’t you. Has weaker jumping and standard horn attack but will also have have his strongest charge up attack where he runs back and forth at length on the platform he’s on pretty much dominating it. Possible to get knocked off the stage if attack is powerful enough and from behind but if the charge attack hits you you risk eating 40% and possibly getting KO’ed if high enough.

Stages:

If Sonic makes it back I’d like for them to do something a bit more interesting than Green Hill even though that’s the go too. I’d say Angel Island Zone would probably make a good aesthetic. Stage is nice lush and green for the first few minutes of the stage before Eggman’s bots come in and torch the background and turn it into a wasteland just like in the game. Add in little scenic stuff maybe like the Death Egg in the background crashed in it’s crater and that would slowly rise out of the crater afterwards and rain down havoc on the stage. I’m imagining it being on a moving platform similiar to Delphino Isle and The Halberd’s stage from Brawl.

Super Mario Galaxy stage: I’m not even sure how this would work completely with the whole gravity thing probably fucking up everything. I just know I want it and I know it’d be beautiful. Random starbits would ran down on the stage that can be picked up and thrown at opponents.

Bowser’s Castle: More based off the version from Super Mario World but with some nods to his some of the interior designs of previous and after castles in the other games. Thwomps can be hiding in nooks, lava pits will be everywhere, and you might see some mecha koopas running around being a nuisance. The mecha koopa’s can be jumped on and used as throwing items just like in the game. I imagine the stage starting out in side scrolling fashion at first and then taking a F-Zero stage like tour throughout the castle before looping back.

I could probably come up with more but I’m coming up with blanks right now probably because it’s so late.

as long as the stage isnt moving i really dont care, or have walls for characters to do infinites on, and have a giant stage were someone can get the lead then run away the whole match

Ness is the not the first hero of his series.

As for items, I fully support Rambi the Rhino as a assist trophy. I’ll be happy to see any of DK’s animal pals show up as assist trophies.

Stages I want Dr. Wily’s castle.

Lanky Kong just cause hes got that Sim reach

I find it silly that people argue that RIdley cannot be in the game because of size…Again if Capcom has taught us anything is that size is irrelevant. Marvel has the biggest and smallest fighting game characters in a game. If they can work in Sentinal/Jugg, Nintendo can do Ridley…then again I’m not in support of the character because I don’t care enough about the character to support.

I do however support Waluigi

The ability to turn off Tap Jump was a godsend for me. In Melee, I always got accidental jumps instead of U-tilt or double jumps when I wanted Uair. This feature serious needs to stay in.

You gots it, son.

Gold Lightan and PTX in TVC would like to have a word with MVC3 Sentinel…

On Ridley: That was, supposedly, the official line. Some nonsense about “too big.” Whatever; that got debunked with ease last time around and someone already did it again here with that NES screen-cap. I wouldn’t mind seeing him added.

On Layton: Assist Trophy, my ass! Layton is hardcore, and knows how to throw down. See evidence below:[details=Spoiler]

They could make a movelist for him and I hope they do. His winquotes would be amazing.

On More Third-Party: In theory I want to dig in my heels and say “This should be about characters important to Nintendo history! Simon Belmont probably counts, his NES-era games were iconic of the system!” On the other hand, sonic the hedgehog got in last time around and his relevance to Nintendo history… well, it is prominent, but indirect (“he used to be their greatest rival on the market”). So apparently the roster is really going to feature whoever they feel like. At this point I wouldn’t put it past them to add someone from Mutant League Football. …Which would be hilarious and awesome, but really off-topic.

So hey, keep the hope alive for whoever it is you want to see in. It might happen!

Don’t forget that by the time Sonic was put in Brawl, there had already been Sonic games on Nintendo consoles.

Sure. That’s just smart business. Nintendo knows full well that even with as far as their mascot-rival has fallen… he is still a very big draw. Put him in a decent game and people will go for it. Put him in a highly anticipated game and people will collectively freak out in joy/excitement. Most of us probably remember that it worked pretty well for Brawl, after all.

Bringing Mega Man in was likewise very smart business. I honestly can’t think of any better inclusion to get people’s attention the moment you announce the game. “New Smash” is kind of exciting on its own. “New Smash, and Mega Man is in!” however is… well, I think it got virtually everyone talking and rightly so. Right now, the roster we know for certain right now (As in “publicly revealed”, not just “we all know Nintendo would be insane not to bring X or Y back”) has only a handful of characters that really excite me, and he’s one of them. The others are Pit and Villager, with moderate interest in Trainer, Link, and Bowser. Adding the Blue Bomber was definitely a highlight moment!

I dunno if you noticed, but your other two pictures you posted before changed to this.
