I personally think Lucario is great. Only thing I don’t like about him is the floaty jump, no meteor effect attack and terrible up B.
He has a three hit combo with A in which you can substitute the last attack with any tilt attack or his side B (force palm).
Smash attacks require the correct distance to do max damage
Down A in the air slows down his fall.
Even though Lucario is back, I still believe that Mewtwo has a chance. I don’t really follow Pokemon like that, but hasn’t he appeared recently in a new movie or game or something? I don’t think Sakurai would pass up an opportunity like this after a huge portion of Smash fans have asked for Mewtwo to come back.

Already discussed it earlier. Has a new Movie being the first Mega Evo shown in media, in X/Y, in Pokemon Origins. The only Poke with nearly as much media saturation right now is LIZARDON…uh, I mean Charizard.
Lucario was the poster boy for the Megavolutions and a movie.
Mewtwo was the first Mega Evolution seen, is one of only two Pokemon with TWO Mega forms, and starred in two movies and two specials. Your point?

I like Lucario; I got nothing against him. But you’ll never convince me that he’s better than Mewtwo.
I’ll even run the Side by Side on Lucario and Mewtwo’s notable accomplishments (if you can call them that).
Mewtwo:
- Headliner for the FIRST Pokemon Movie (pretty damn huge deal) and is actually canon to the anime.
- First true Post Game Legendary and essentially the Final Boss of Gen 1 and the big Post Game Legendary of Gen 6 along with Zygarde.
- Has appeared in multiple movies and multiple specials.
- One of only two Pokemon in existence (as of this post) with 2 Mega Evolutions
- Only playable Legendary as of this post with a Mega Evolution and later will only share the honor with Latios and Latias.
- First seen Mega Evolution
- Appeared in Melee
Lucario:
- Headliner for his own movie as well.
- The Progenitor of Mega Evolution
- Essentially the center of the Subplot of Pokemon X/Y along with Korrina.
- Appeared in Brawl

I feel like we’re focusing too much on “Pokemon” and not enough on “Pokemon in Smash”.
I’m curious if they’ll add a damage component to Lucario’s Extreme Speed like they did with Pikachu’s Quick Attack in Melee.
