Well guess what, the realm of popular bipedal Pokemon that could replace that moveset is a short list. An EXTREMELY short list. Really…only Mewtwo and Lucario could do so.
I think any fighting type could fit the bill really,
any fighting psychic, any bipedal psychic.
But you know, the kiddies gotta have Lucario cause of one movie, can’t have too much history going through there lest smash brothers be too hardcore.
Mewtwo has THREE Movies PLUS the final battle of Pokemon Origins and you’re bitching over Lucario’s one? Way to be petty there.
And again, that list is short because…shocker, the Pokemon also has to be relatively popular to get name recognition. The only other Poke that could potentially take that spot is Alakazam, to which would be a waste over Mewtwo to begin with.
It’s not about quantity it’s about relevance. I don’t think mewtwo has been in anything Newer than Lucario’s movie right?

Actually, the third Mewtwo movie is the most recent Pokemon movie period (at least at the time of this posting). And let’s go further. It also was in Pokemon Origins, released right before X/Y where he had a full on battle against Red. And then he’s one of the catchable Legendaries in the game and at the time of this posting, the only one with a Mega Evolution AND it has two. The love affair with Mewtwo hasn’t ended in the slightest, so don’t be pulling that “New Gen” rank shit.
Ah okay, If that’s the case then Yes I do believe that Mewtwo should be in over Lucario then.
If leaked list is right and he’s playable, then I’m gonna assume his moveset is gonna be origins based, and he’ll probably get swift attack.

Mewtwo was great to see but I think “Amazing” is a bit of an overstatement.

He’s solid but a huge amount of people outshine him.
I still feel Lucario deserved to come back. He was unique enough in terms of his moveset and overall playstyle to warrant a return, and he’s still the most popular mon from Gen 4.
Mewtwo deserves to make a return as well though, he has a unique enough moveset. I’m still surprised they didn’t bring him back for Brawl honestly, Lucario isn’t even close to being a “replacement.”
I’d also like to see Zoroark but that’s seeming less likely now.
If anyone didn’t “deserve” to come back, I’d say it’s Toon Link. Yes, he is one of my mains, but unless they make him more unique compared to regular Link, I don’t see the point in bringing him back. 
I mean, Lucario’s got some decent play of his own as Lucario is essentially the progenitor of Mega Evolution to begin with. But X/Y is basically trying to bring Gen 1 back to the forefront so I’m actually a bit surprised that Lucario got a nod. However it still wouldn’t surprise me to see Mewtwo ALSO put in the game. Especially since one of his Mega Evos is a part-Fighting Type.

Sigurd beats Hector no matter what Hector has. Ike needs two Aether activation to have a chance to win. Sigurd is the best Lord in any FE game.

Ike’s aether trigger which isn’t uncommon to trigger isn’t what makes him relevant it’s that in conjunction with his retarded strength and dex, while bearing solid res is what makes that guy the best mothefucker around man. Sigurd is still a great lord.

But seriously, Sigurd is the best. Ike has his moments where he’s not doing much due to hitting 20 too fast. Sigurd can probably solo his chapters given the right stuff.
This is going back a page, but thanks for the clarification melflomil. I figured it was going to be “like how it was in Brawl, just moreso” but for all I knew maybe he gained genuinely new abilities in Pokemon and they were going to try to port those over to Smash 4 or something. Good to know it’ll likely just be more damage and bigger projectiles.
Not a character I want to play, but still an okay addition to the roster. Adds something I’d enjoy fighting against, if they can tweak Aura to be more interesting this time around.
