I haven’t been following the news for this game as of late and I dislike going to smashboards for info because that place gets spammed to hell on a daily basis. Anyone know about release dates? Gamestop says June 1, 2007. Gamespot just says 2007. IGN says Japan’s release date is 12/31/06. So I don’t know what to believe.

As for returning characters and taking hints from the balance changes between the first two games, I get the feeling Marth will be raped by the nerf stick simply because too many newbs and scrubs complain about how “cheap” he is. Any idiot knows that at high level play, space animals and Sheik decimate Marth players who aren’t Ken. -_-

There is no release date.

Sakurai appeared at the TGS for five minutes and said 2 things.

  1. Brawl is definitely coming out in 07 in Japan.
  2. The Wiimote won’t be used during regular play.

Y’know, it still might be new characters. That translation doesn’t seem to clear either way IMO.

Yeah…either way I’m really looking forward to the new trailer. Can’t wait to see Wario n’ Snake in action, and maybe it’ll clear up how samus becomes zamus.

Plus seeing more chars would be nice…even if it’s just old chars we all know are gonna be included like Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Fox.

most people who play smash though in tournaments dont use mario, they use Doc, same with Marth and Roy no one really uses Roy. I want to play as a silent hill character.

EDIT: After watching it a couple times, here are some observations:

New Yoshi’s Island-style stage RAWKS
Pit’s stage with the breakable platforms is also cool.
Same goes for teh Starfox stage.
I’m kinda meh on the castle and mario kart stages

Zamus’s normals look quite a bit like Shiek’s --all the more reason to think that Shiek is getting the boot and Samus/Zamus is the new transformation character.
Wario and Snake look AWESOME.
Metaknight looks broken.
I’m even less interested in Pit now.

In the US SSB, the hit sounds were like bowling pins
In SSBM they changed it to “meatier” sounds (which I always thought was worse)
Now all the hits sound like the beamsword hits for some reason (even worse!)

Also, I think Fox looks great.

Something tells me he has an infinte or some shit, he hits so fast, and small jumping is probably going to be crazy with him.

EDIT: I mean I STILL want to find out more about third party characters but it’s nice to have some new news and at least know that Starfox is in it for sure. Loving the Mario Kart Stage! :lovin:
