It was very popular, and still is. And it’s one of the highly sought after games that people want released Stateside, aswell. This may even bring it, and the original Mother to the states, somehow, similar to how Marth and Roy’s Melee appearance finally brought over the Fire Emblem games.
All of the original characters are still in.
Bottom Line. December 3rd I’ll rock Honeybee Ness on Wi-Fi. Lucas gives Mother 3 the shine it truly deserves. And that game is deserving of all the shine it will recieve. And I ignore Lucas like that ugly girl and her friends at the mall who be stalkin you cause they see you pull some big boy money out. And everyone is happy.

…Though I do have to wonder about Luigi at this point. He doesn’t seem very popular given how cowardly he’s become in Nintendo games.

The franchises that dont have 1 representing so far are Fire Emblem, F-Zero, Earthbound, Donkey Kong Country, Metroid, Star Fox, Kirby (meta knight is a rogue, not a villain), Kid Icarus, Wario (might not need one), The Ice Climbers (might not need one), Metal Gear, and Yoshi’s Story.
The focus in the series is about Heroes coming together to duke it out, with Mewtwo, Bowser, and Ganondorf as the representing evil doers.
Would adding more antagonists into the arena be a good or bad thing?
Actually there is no proof that they are using a new engine. The havoc rumors may not be true. And even if it is true, that doesn’t mean it is using a new engine (OMG) the havoc engine could just be used for certain visual effects. Many physics engines are used just to perfect small visual details… it doesn’t mean the whole game system is using it.
On the old Smash Brawl site it actually stated that they were working with the Melee engine for brawl as well.
I never played Luigi’s Mansion myself, but I’ll take anything over clones.

On topic, I was going to ask the same thing Adam asked about Melee. I think I may pick it up used next time I see it just to get used to the basic mechanics of the game. I only ever played Melee casually with non fighting game people, don’t know it well at all. With online coming, might as well at least learn the damn controls.

And everyone needs to get melee. Each Smash has been like, a totally different game, and Brawl looks to be the same.
Yay! Lucas, another character from a game I really want to play but Nintendo has abstained to carry over stateside for 2 years.
As long as he doesn’t have that ridiculous PK Thunder recovery (main reason why Ness sucks overall) although he probably doesn’t.
This is my main complaint with this entire thread.
There haven’t even been any gameplay vids, let alone a playable version of the game anywhere.

I have. They need to put more in. Specifically King Deedee, a fire emblem badguy, and Samurai Goro would have made an excellent new character. King K. Rule would make a good addition too.

Knew this was coming. KNEW IT. I hope they still put Ness in, but it’s great to see a second character from that universe playable in a Smash game. :lovin:
They still haven’t announced any newcomers from new franchises (franchises that weren’t already represented in melee) except for the ones from E3 '06. the newcomers announced on the website (Ike, Poketrainer, Diddy, Lucas) are all from pre-existing franchises. I guess he’s saving the new ones like Lil Mac and Olimar, and crosses fingers EBA/Ouendan for last.
