Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii are very amused

That would be sweet. I’m a big fan of Captain Falcon ever since F-Zero for Snes, the Gamecube one was epic but didn’t sell well I think. He better not be a fucking assist trophy, Sakurai will have to answer to a Falcon Woolf (Or Buster punch? Still deciding…)

Adding fuel to the fire… shinryukev says

from this thread

lol this is a joke right?

oooooo…October eh? so more people will finall be able to get their grubby mits on it? We need someone from this thread at least to be there so they can confirm or reject all of the questions we have…oh well…

When in October?

Is it worth getting Melee to learn Smash in depth or should I just wait for brawl?

Depends imo…Melee’s a great game but if you’re just planning on buying it to learn the in’s and out’s of the game before brawl…i da know if that’s a good idea…we don’t know how much of the mechanics have changed from melee to brawl. In terms of basic just knowing how to play the game in general then sure get it. But don’t buy the game and get really good at something like wave dashing and landing and then realize that it isn’t in brawl for example.

thats kind of like asking if I learn MVC1 will I know how to play MVC2, no you wont cause there not that same game.

Smash64 and Smash Melee are way different. You might get a feel on what the game is like but you’ll have to relearn everything once Brawl comes out.

I agree with this analogy.

Fortunately, since Brawl will be able to use the GC controller, you can still use Melee to learn the positioning and how effectively do tilts, fine tuning edge recovery, and short hops.

Yeah, but Melee is a great game that will easily keep you busy until Brawl arrives. If you can get all the trophies before December 3rd, I will be shocked.

Also, if you’ve never played Smash, you can still learn the basics. Tilts, Edge-hogging, Meteor-smash timing, and whatnot.

…seriously.

Get Melee anyway, like quiche said, it will keep you busy + you get to play characters that haven’t been confirmed for Brawl. I want to see what you think of Challenge #51, lol. (No Teammates, No Items, …FINAL DESTINATION.)

I have doubts about that October reveal, but I figured they were going to release at least one more vid on the main site before its’ release. Thought it would have been during TGS, but I guess October’s good.

welcome to the family

You remind me of sad days

Your av made me realize that Zelda isn’t a blonde anymore. After beating TP countless times, I somehow managed to miss that.

when people were playing 64smash they thought melee might be the same, but it was a lot different it was almost like playing a new game. And brawl isnt out yet so we dont know if its going to play like melee

Yeah, but playing the original definatly HELPED. Going from smash64 to Melee did take some getting used to, but it helped that I already had the basics down. (tilting, edge gaurding, positioning, etc)

It’ll be a new game, but previous expereince will undeniably help. That’s just how sequels are.

it’s better to start with melee becuase brawl is using the same engine, thus the transition isn’t as dramatic from 64 to GC.

Actually, Brawl is using a new engine.

…seriously.

Similar mechanics regardless, like Tigerboi said. All the things I mentioned in my previous post still apply to all versions of Smash.

Oh FUCK NO!! Lucas!!! Damn! New Main!
