Gotta say, I’m not too happy about the fact that there are so many active stages where something in the stage tries to launch you or whatever. Can we get a battlefield please?
I’m not happy with the fact that like every damn stage is a big flat platform at the bottom with two little platforms above it.
Just cuz some pussies want to play final destination everytime doesn’t mean I want all my stages looking like it with a new skin.
Oh well, lol at Nintendo keeping there only real amazing game on Wii under wraps.
A console can only sell on “look how cool this is! it’s so cute! old people can play it!” for so long.
Of course I am totally wrong, because they’ve almost already caught up to X Box which is retarded. How? I do not know. People must like paying to download roms and being forced to wiggle a control around with last gen graphics. It doesn’t matter, this latest gen has been pretty much a big meh so far.

Because it’s gory and violent and that draws people in and it’s very flashy. It appeals to the casual gamer because it’s eye catching.
That’s all Nintedo is doing with the Wii. Appealing to the masses with easy controls and all these games that let you do these fun little things like cooking or drawing. Same thing with the DS. People are buying it more and more to play games that teach them languages and do other things that really aren’t gamining related.
I will say that Nintendo is genius, but they have lost thier edge for pumping out alot of great hardcore games for harcore gamers since the SNES days besides thier well established franchises. So they may as well go the casual route.
Hell even MP3 felt more like a FPS with exploration elements to me. Not a Metroid game.
BTW the controls for that game really aren’t suited for a metroid game IMO. Felt really awkward having to move fingers differently to access the menu, visors, or hyper mode. Mostly the menu though.

They are genius marketers I guess, but not so much at making games anymore. Not at all.
They just completely bit offa apples entire marketing scheme. Got a huge hype wave and now are coasting on it with a lackluster system that runs on a gimmick.
Even the games have been pretty damn shitty so far. It’s just a gamecube with a damn motion control and yet people are in love with it. It boggles my mind. Being tiny/cute/cheapest hasn’t really hurt it either. Especially the cheap part.
The only real game that seems to be worth it is Smash Brothers so far. This is because you get only ONE smash brothers a gen and they put ALL there effort into making it amazing. Every other Wii game announced has been more of the same ol’ first party crap they push out every gen. Just now with stupid Wii Wiggle’s tacked on.
I really wonder how often people all those 10 million people are really playing their Wii’s, or if they just got one when it was the “SUPER GREAT COOL THING!” and now it’s just sitting there.
Oh well, I’m glad people are enjoying their glowing blue zip drives, I don’t even know if I am going to get one anymore, even with Smash Bros coming out.

I want a PS3 for only two games (Ratchet and Clank 5, and whatever the fuck Team Ico is making next), otherwise the system is worthless. Too big, costs too much, Blu-rays came too damn early, noone gives a fuck for ‘Home’, and I’m pretty sure we would have all been with the PS2 for another 5 years.
Halo is a fucking overhyped slightly above average first person piece of shit, but it’s probably the one game that’s ever been able to really INFEST the mainstream (there’s advertisments for it at fucking 7-11). I can’t think of anything else even worth mentioning on the X-box.
And yeah, the Wii is a $300 zipdisk drive. I hate the controller scheme too. But!

Smash Brothers Brawl, really does look amazing, and it’s entirely worth the damn purchase of the Wii. They looked at Melee and realized that it was selling GC’s on its own (hence the bundle) so now they’re overclocking this shit and it’ll be FANTASTIC when we all finally get our hands on it.

Yeah I agree with you guys. I’m pretty much getting a PS3 just because it caters to hardcore gamers and I want to support my favorite console line. I got my PS2 for Devil May Cry so it seems fitting that I get a PS3 for Devil May Cry 4. Assassin’s Creed is nice too.
Still it sucks that Nintendo has pretty much abandoned us since it’s the hardcore gamers that kept it alive with the gamecube which was pretty much a failure compared to the PS2 and the DS.
Halo…eh. It kinda redefined FPS and the controls. It proved that a console shooter can have great controls and the story is damn good. Also the online functions are some of the best if not the best out there.
No better reason to shell out $500.

I am coppping a Wii mainly for smash, but there’s some other shit out there that I’ll buy to. I still can see myself paying for ROMs though, there’s just something that doesn’t feel right about it. Every time I see one on XBL I just can’t bring myself to do it.

Xbox has had some really solid releases so far, it took them a while but they are here finally.
You got Bioshock(fucking epic), Forza 2(better then GT imo) ES4: Oblivion, Dead Rising(fucking zombies!!!), Blue Dragon(classic Japanese RPG goodness), Skate is coming out this week which is AMAZING, Army of Two looks fucking sick also.
I’ll admit that the PS3 is a bit lacking in the everything department, but it has a decent future with MGS4 coming and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Tekken 6, Ratchet and Clank.
And the wii is great. if you don’t own one you should. It may just be an overclocked GC with “wiggle” controls but the “Wiggle” controls are AMAZING. Granted they are performed best with their first party games, but the system is fairly young and developers are just starting to get their heads wrapped around the possibilities that the system holds.

I know you don’t want to hear this, probably already know infact… But Sunshine was pretty good, even though it couldn’t hold a candle in terms of levels and pacing to 64. It did have atmosphere, and it did have it’s moments.
On top of that, Galaxy is getting no hype outside of IGN… Which is a lame console war fuel site anyway…
EDIT: For the record, the GCN had awesome games by this time compared to the Wii. GCN at least had Smash, Pikmin (:lovin::lovin::lovin:), and Luigi’s mansion. The Wii had Red Steel and Wario Ware. And that Wario Ware totally let me down.
