On that thought, would you say that Mega Man characters or Street Fighter characters have a better chance of being in Brawl?
As I see it, they’re both Capcom and they both were used heavily on Nintendo systems, even though Mega Man has more games recently.
This is a lovely idea, IMO. Hell, one of the many “wish-list” things I wrote up years ago, was for a feature similar to the PokeBall, for non-Pokemon assist. Gives us a chance to see more characters in action, whom we normally wouldn’t. Shit’s a great idea. Shoryuken folk forget that this is a party game, that just happens to have a pretty decent fighting engine too. It’s for having a great time. Fuck all your tourney-tard shit. Majority of Smash Bros. fans don’t care about that. I just wanna get online, and kick all kinds of ass, and have a great time while I do it.
Megaman “fits” the whole SSB… uhh… damn, tired… “theme/thing” better than Street Fighters IMO.

Same here. I will be so pissed if any third party characters are solely (trophy) assists, too.
I still wonder what the hell its point is, though. Maybe it’s like that useless “Night Shade” move for Togepi in Smash.
These last two updates have a kind of mixed reaction from me. I agree with the sentiment of better in as a (meaningful) cameo than at all, but obviously agree with Blodia in a sense.
P.S. And woe onto the “person”–if we can call anyone that suggests such as thing a “person” or otherwise human–that Mega Man should be an assist with a generic Kamehameha as his attack.
If he’s doomed to be an assist, which he damn well better not be, then he should use Time Stopper for the win.
P.P.S. I have to wonder if assists will be completely random or have rates like Pokeball as well, such as low rates for legendaries and high rates for Goldeen and other weaklings.

There’s a guy that recently got 3rd in a major tournament with Game/Watch, and has been in general kicking everyones ass with him. He doesn’t suck, he has some incredible tech ability. Like, when you hit him a lot of times, he can tech and retailiate before your animation is done haha.
