That second pic of Zelda is not going to be a down+b. It looks like an Aerial. Is probably here Nair when she acutally faces the screen for a sec.
I’d perfer if all characters got a full overhaul of moves. also for it to be as balanced as possible. while still retaining its competitive potential. But that might be asking for a red pen to be blue. >_>
Looks nothing like her current one and her knees are entirely bent.
I’m not sure why no one thinks this is a big deal if it is another crouch move, having more than one is actually one of the most useful things as far as new information about gameplay is concerned.
i like the old zelda better. dont know why
what bothers me is that everybody (not just srk) thinks ALL OF THE PREVIOUS CHARACTERS HAS A CHANCE TO GET AXED. Seriously, cut that shit out. it’s annoying. Ice climbers will come back, so will jigglypuff, so will yoshi, so will captain falcon, so will donkey kong, etc…
you guys act all surprised when Zelda came back, whoamagoshorgasm. :lame:
Well it is surprising IMO because its something that is not expected (character related) I was expecting to see Meta Knight or Snake since they were in the video…and every character they shown thus far has been in the video…
Since they showed Twilight Princess Zelda, do you guys think that Sheik will be a separate character in this game?
I can’t speak much of SRK but a lot of melee peeps are cynical because they don’t want smash to change so they never ever look on the bright side of things. they think its a new game its gonna suck cause apparently melee is the best thing since sliced bread and requires no improvements at all.
I’m happy to see zelda actually, I wasn’t to shocked at all. who ever thinks Yoshi and DK won’t come back is retarded for 2 reasons they’re nintendo characters >_> c’mon and two they were part of the original cast on the 64 sakurai said all orignal 8 characters are making it back.
Sorry, but that’s BS.
The Smash community’s trepidations stem from comments made by the creator himself, stating he wanted to make the gameplay “easier” and “slow” it down. Not to mention the whole possibility of them developing the game with online in mind, which could put a kink in things as well.
Who knows if that’s the vision being currently developed, as the trailers make the engine seem similar to Melee, but the community’s apprehensions have little to do with not wanting to move foward.

Slow and easier doesn’t mean worse. thats what the many in the smash community think, at least on smashboards in the brawl section I’ve seen so much pissing and moaning saying they’re gonna make it worse. People saying wavedash shouldn’t be removed cause it adds depth like sakurai has already stated its going to be removed which he hasn’t its nothing but bitching and moaning.
thats a load of shit, and you know it. I’ve heard countless times people want brawl to be just like melee with more characters.
If you’re spending your time in the Brawl discussion section, you’re discussing the community’s future with newbies that don’t know shit about the high level aspects of Smash.
Obviously “slower and easier” doesn’t automatically and literally translate to “non-competitive”. DUH. But that does, quite obviously, highlight a potential shift in focus away from some of things that made high level Melee great. The game is fast and the game is technical. In general, most competitive fighting games worth their salt share this trait.
Don’t take the pulse of the community from random forum scrubs wasting their days away speculating fruitlessly, using abstract morsels of info.
edit
And of course there are going to be people who do not want foward projection. Some people simply do not like change, but this is NOT a trait exclusive the Smash community. This happens with ANY popular competitve game when a sequel is on the horizon. Hell, there’s so much that hasn’t been touched on or exhausted in Melee, I myself, personally wish Brawl wasn’t due out for another year. I’ll be ready regardless.

(Hell, Isai still claims till’ this day that he doesn’t find Melee fun)
Meh your last post I agree with, however the scrubs still are part of the community however a half intellegent smasher will be open to change unless they’re that bullheaded to think it won’t.
Melee is pretty fast, the speed might be taken down a few notches but it might still retain a competitive speed. Maybe I’m just trying to look on the bright side to much?
I’m all for optimism. I haven’t seen ANYTHING that leads me to believe the game will be anything short of spectacular in all aspects upon arrival…
Still, I’d be naive to not let Sakurai’s gameplay comments worry me at least a bit.

That surprised the hell out of me…somehow I think sakurai did this on purpose to kinda suck people into looking at the updates more but who knows… I got one thing to say though…THIS IS A GREAT START FOR THE WEEK!!! =D I hope this week is on par or at least better than the last week. I suspect at least another item (hopefully new), something on meta knight and possibly finally Kirby’s final smash outta the way?..actually you know what…everytime i say that I wish it would happen this week it doesn’t so i’m gonna say screw it. I just want them to get that update outta the way so it won’t show up later down the road. I also hope nintendo proves me wrong even further and posts up a character that won’t be unlocked at the start of the game…buuut that’s probably asking for too much heh…
No, they are all axed until we get stupid updates telling us they are back.
SO IT HAS BEEN WRITTEN, SO IT HAS BEEN DONE!
I can’t wait for the Kirby update, AND THE PEACH UPDATE!!!
OMG!
Ganondorf best show up with the dreads/light hole/that BIG ASS sword he beat Link’s ass with in TP.
Give Kirby back his Dair from SSB64.
Paraphrasing the Ten Commandments? If you are, you win.
I say removal of spikes in general and make them all Meteors just all meteors have different timings to be canceled, like stated before.
