Okay, Fuck it. I knew Id feel stupid for posting that here, gave myself the benefit of the doubt.
Ok questions.
-I’ve heard things about the hit detection being changed, and the hits feeling more solid. How much of this is true?
-Has anything been speculated as broken, either regarding tiers or just in the game itself?
-The possible OFFICIAL tournament rules.
-The point of Assist Trophys.
-How much new stuff in said game, are gimmicks. Or is everything seen, potentionally useful?
-Will clone characters, be re-introduced?
-Can you tell me anything, that I probably dont already know (and no, Im not willing to check 42 pages of text)?
^…aaaaand that about sums up it up…cept for the things you don’t already know…might have to be a bit more specific about that. And it sounds like you’re a tad perturbed helter…chiiiilllllll…woooosaaaaaaaa…I even suggested that you ask questions…so I was trying to help ya out…‘and that’s not a bad thing…that’s…a good thing!’ DDP smile =D
shrugs Hey man, I play Bridget because no matter how you look at it, Ruu-style yo-yo lockdown in the corner is pretty damn awesome. It’s not because Bridget is some loli-transvestite hybrid.
And Helter Skelter, go here to read up about the game mechanics and character alterations and how they play. Everything’s in the first 2 or so–albeit long–posts, but everything that we know about Brawl mechanics-wise is in there.
why would I edit my post when what I said is the ugly truth? capcom doesnt really give two shits about OG megaman. and there is zero chance capcom would license any of their characters to appear in a non-capcom made crossover game. think rationally about all this.
early on when snake was announced I was excited because I thought the sky was the limit, sonic was an obvious choice as well. speculation is fun and all but its when people make the most bullshit never-gonna-happen assumptions of who they think nintendo just HAS to be put into the game that irks me. there is a zero chance that any square/capcom character will make it into the game, even as an assist trophy or even any sort of mention whatsoever. I quit speculation on third party character appearances long ago, maybe because I was thinking rationally about the whole thing.
capcom…anything in the game, not gonna happen. so what if megaman appeared on NES first? you know what else, megaman has been on every console under the sun, plus its OG megaman and what I said before applies to this as well. nintendo has plenty of megaman games on GBA and DS, none of which are OG megaman. never going to happen. never EVER going to happen!
oracle of ages/season…um, so? Im sure nintendo is deeply indebted to capcom for producing those MASTERPIECES and nintendo’s library of games would look like shit without it. OoA/S is what any and all future game developers were influenced by when they got into the buisness. OoA/S is a cornerstone of modern gaming, truly an unforgettable gem that surpasses any other zelda game ever made. fuck ocarina of time, Ive got the invincible game boy color tag team of destruction that is OoA/S.
do you honesty think nintendo gives a flying fuck about those two games?
I think you’re being a little excessive, I wouldn’t discount the idea of Capcom characters in Smash Bros. Didn’t Capcom License out it’s chars to SNK for SVC: Card Fighters Clash and SVC: Chaos? They also licensed out their chars for Namco X Capcom (which was developed and published by Namco) As far as crossovers go, Capcom actually has a pretty strong track record. Did I mention that OG megaman was in 2 of those 3 games?
Square also has a decent crossover record --at least with Nintendo. The Squeenix-developed Mario Hoops 3 on 3 had a team of FF chars as a secret unlockable (it was like black mage, moogle, chocobo or something) Also, there’s Super Mario RPG, which Square developed, and the new Itagaki Street which is a weird ass game that stars characters from Dragon Quest and Super Mario Bros.
So what makes you think neither of those companies could ever license out a char to Nintendo for Smash, which is easily the biggest Wii game of 2008. If I were head of a 3rd party, I’d be begging Nintendo to include my flagship character in Smash --anybody who’s anybody is gonna be there, and landing your guy in there means you’re a somebody.
That said, I wouldn’t be surprised (or upset) if Sonic and Snake are the end of the 3rd party characters…but that doesn’t mean I’m not hoping for some extra goodness.
…seriously.
P.S.: Namco included Pacman as a bonus character in Mario Kart Arcade GP, and I’d love to see him as a 3rd party bonud too. Wakka wakka wakka.
Also posting (reposting?) this for a couple o’ laughs; forgive me as I’m not that awfully familiar with the ways of 4chan. I thought it was hilarious though:
hmmm, while what you said makes sense and Im aware of the past crossovers/3rd party developed games for nintendo it just seems like quite a stretch to say that nintendo would include these gobs of 3rd party characters that everyone is hoping for. nintendo has an immense stable of characters they could include and they cant devote half the line up just to third party characters. it would take time and money and negotiations and data space that could be used in a more beneficial way. maybe, I dunno, more nintendo characters?
and I agree with you, if they added one more 3rd party character I could definitely see pac-man. I mean, pac-man is easily as recognizable as mario and sonic. realistically he would be a great addition to the cast.
but I still stand by my opinion that there wont be any sqare or capcom characters
not all of the speculation pages have just 3rd party characters…And why not include the most obvious to the long shot? oh and I loled at the ooa/oas rant. Yeah those games weren’t the best in the series but they were still good and for Nintendo to even liscence let an outside developer work on a zelda game is an honor…IIRC They’re the only outside company thats worked on a major zelda game. That HAS to count for something.
Pac-man possibly has a better chance of showing up in this game purely because of the Triforce connection between Nintendo, sega, and namco. I wouldn’t mind seeing him in the game but I just think that’s crazy to just completely think that capcom has no chance of having any representation in this game whatsoever. I’m pretty sure fans of Sim City couldn’t see that Prof. Wright Assist trophy coming from 5 miles away if they wanted too.
um, nintendo also gave philips the rights to develop zelda games, do you still think that counts for something as well?
with assist trophies, practically anything nintendo related (that isnt square or capcom blah blah blah) developed can be included. It doesnt really bother me when people speculate on first party characters, go on ahead, but when they go beyond the borders of sensibility and want characters that are completely unrelated to anything nintendo (dante? crono? CLOUD? no, fuck you). think about it rationally and not what your inner fanboy is telling you. your inner fanboy is a slut.
also, prof. wright. snes game. its awesome. not a long shot to imagine him being in the game in some way.
lol…Perhaps I should have put major in caps. Nintendo acts like the Phillips Cd-I games never happened (as well as they should) while Minish Cap and OAS/OOA sold well. Yeah Dante is far and beyond a long shot. However Crono and Cloud (though he’s way out there with dante) do have a shot of just showing up if anything as Assist Trophies just because they were in at least one game on a Nintendo platform. Believe it or not my inner fanboy isn’t really rooting for these characters to show up so he isn’t a slut lol. He’s already satisified with the blue hedgehog. I’m just not ruling out any type of possibility even for how small it is that any of these characters could show up. Are you saying prof. wright had more of a chance of showing up than Megaman or Crono as an assist? I’m sure Sim City was and still is an awesome game so don’t think i’m trying to say that it’s crap ( I however will admit that i haven’t played it so I have no right to judge or say what the game was either way). This convosation probably just needs to be dropped since it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere though.
hmm, i wonder if anything from Galaxy is going to be in Brawl, that would be pretty cool. And tonight is an update night, so here we go again for the umpteenth week in a row. Suprises are in store, and probably a good dose of dissapointment, but hey, life is all about ups and downs
