Thats the first trade paper. Second one should be availabkle sometime soon, the regular issues that’re gonna be in there havent all come out yet.
ok ellis thunderbotls is gold.
get cable and deadpool. all of the issues are out in trade now. seriously you’ll love this series.
nextwave agents of H.A.T.E. - ellis is on crack throughout this entire series.
green lantern sinestro corps war book 1- you’ll be a much better person after you read this.
then there are the obvious ones : iron fist, cap america, daredevil, criminal, basically any brubook.
buy fell.
I’m inclined to purchase every suggestion in this topic. I just need to know EXACTLY what to buy. Links tend to help alot.
Thunderbolts is already on it’s way to my house, but I am also a Deadpool fan sooo… where do I start with him?
What is fell?
Start with that one for cable and deadpool
Wonderful. This topic is extremely helpful guy’s thanks.
Comic book readers are like Jehova’s whitnesses in the sense that they get off on sharing the word of the good book that they believe in with others
lol Too true.
knock knock
Comic Whitness: You read dat new Spider man!?!?!
slam
New house
Knock knock
Captain america is the best thing you can and need to get right now
Than you got Thunderbolts which is also a great read and Ironman Director of shield that i think you realy like if you read CW
On the DC end you got Sinestro corps war that makes other big events look like nothing
and ofcourse All-star Superman that only maybe Captain america is better and thats a big maybe
im also realy enjoying the current Batman but i dont think a new reader will enjoy it
Those are my 2 cents
This is Fell, dude.
It’s basically about a police detective who works in the filthiest town you can imagine. I finally read the TPB myself just two weeks ago. One of the best Ellis comics I have read. It surprised me because it didn’t really have too much of Ellis’ trademark British cynicism, and the protagonist isn’t a typical Ellis chain-smoking, sarcastic bastard. Really fantastic read.
Huh I’ll have to give that one a go, I too have never heard of it
It’s a great series. But I’d get trades or HCs only. Fell’s schedule for separate issues is a nightmare.
Just wait till you see the Nixon-nun
Looks interesting. I was reading some of the reviews on that page. I see it doesn’t have much to do with Marvel, but it looks like a good read. Is this the first of this series or is it a work in progress that started somewhere else?
IMO, you should skip If Looks Could Kill and go straight to The Burnt Offering. The first arc of C/D kinda dragged and there was no point to it outside the fact that Cable put together a space station that’s hovering over the Pacific Ocean and SHIELD doesn’t like it. Then just go from there.
First in the series.
There’s 9 issues out.
The first 8 have been collected in trades and hardcovers.
The issues (last time I checked) and hardcovers are pretty expensive now.
Beware though, I know A LOT of people that get sucked in by Ellis’ writing and Templesmith’s drawing.
There’s a whole group of people that dont even order stuff t our comic store anymore.
Thye just come in once a month, ask if there’s anything new by Ellis or Templesmith and take all of that with them. Same for Ennis, Bolton and some others.
Right. Fell isn’t a Marvel or a DC comic. It’s not even a superhero thing. But if you just want to read a great comic, Fell can definitely be your gateway drug into the exciting world of non-Marvel/non-DC books. Anyway, Warren Ellis does often write stuff for both of those companies so it’s not like Fell is so weird that a superhero fan can’t get into it.
…alright. Well I’m gonna finish Thunderbolts before I make my next selection. Since I started this catch up/come back with CW, I’d like to follow that as much as possible. So anything related to the CW series is a plus.
I’ll also be looking at the Cable, Deadpool and Fell stuff afterward too.
This is exactly why I need ya’lls assistance cause this stuff branches off like crazy. I would have no idea what’s goin on.
If you like CW related stuff than you should pick Ironman:DOS it will make you change your mind from liking to hate him than to actuly like him
oh and no excuse for not reading Captain america
lol
Ok. Well uh… IM:DOS, Captain America or Thunderbolts!? What should I read first. Thunderbolts is on it’s way, but I’ll wait to read it if I need to read something else first.
The related CW bolts stuff (the all villians working for the goverment) is only 10 issues so far so you can finish this
Captain America you need to read from the first issue (the Ed Brubaker stuff ofcourse nothing else) its in issuse 37 now
And it doesnt realy matter what you read first
