i have seen some recurring mistakes. some of you need to learn how to translate what you see onto the paper. this calls for lots of practice to train your hands to draw exactly what you see. you have to understand how to draw shapes according to how they look. this is very important; much more important than shadowing or shading. think of shadows and shadings as aids to your picture to bring it into 3D. your skill as an artist depends on the way you draw shapes. you need to learn it the correct way before drawing fantasy images. i am not trying to be harsh or anything, but these are the steps you should take if you want to bring your art to the next level.
i think i may start a tutorial-type of thread to teach and explain (the little i know) how to improve your pictures. simply commenting isnt enough sometimes.
I like ur tutorial idea but i think it should be a collective of peoples views on how to do things.
man i wish someone would do a tutorial of how to shut you up. you should start by taking some of your own advise sonny cause some of your proportions are wack. for someone who says they are doing this for fun you sure are serious about drawing. i would love to see your tutorial on how to fuck up a drawing.
i agree with you for the most part. i dont know if i am really qualified to post something like that. but no one has started a tutorial before and i think a lot of people would like that. i wasnt gonna be the only one posting this stuff up anyway. you’re welcome to start one if you like.

ZenMaster I reckon your tutoring thread is a good idea. It’s good to relay ideas on drawing. I agree with your comments and advice on shapes.
Some of my students are already amazing when they come to me and we still learn off each other. And some are just starting out and I we still share ideas. I never met an artist that has ever had nothing left to learn.
Nice Strider by the way. He looks hard ass.
SFMC is good at giving advice. He usually takes drawing and sketches over it with better proportions and posts it back. It’s a good way of showing another way of building it the composition

The Watchmen
Anyone read it? One of my favorite books ever.
Here’s a picture I’m working on of My Favorite Watchman character Dr Manhattan. I like him so much I made a Tony Hawk underground character of him with his own moves I made and everything, ones called “blue’s clueless” (What a nerd)
The Picture is HEAVLY influenced by the cool panel in the book of him blowing stuff up in his crazy “M” shaped undies.
I think I might add some more little men running away in terror.
I’ll post it on my thread when inked.
