Sub 1 frame HDTV/Monitor Input Lag Database

Anyone have experience/tested with Asus PA238Q ?

prad.de is rating this monitor better than u2312hm…

It seems the EVO monitor is on sale at Newegg (139.99) with a rebate. What’s the cheapest this monitor has been?

Sub $100 open box.

Is the Dell U2312HM really that low? I have the Evo monitor already, but was considering the Dell if verified with proper testing (not response time. LOL).

Prad.de measured input lag by 2.2ms on Asus PA238Q

any updates on new hdtvs/monitors, especially with black friday right around the corner? I’ve got my eye on getting that 51" samsung joint, 1 frame lag on a tv that size is epic, but if theres anything comparable in speed & size, might be swayed.

wow check out the Apple Cinema display! it’d be sick if the 30" ones were the same, and they too hdmi!

Sadly most HDTV’s just suck when it comes to input lag.

However, Samsung PS51D550 & PS51D6900 (Higher end model just added to list) have been reviewed by HDTV Test and in HDMI Input 1 with label change to PC have shown according to their testing 16ms input lag. (31ms otherwise)

quick question about the asus evo monitor. does it matter which “mode” I am using? I like standard for desktop use. same for games too.

Nope at least when I tested the VH246H with a CRT between the modes I saw no change.

Alright, who’s going to buy that new Sony Playstation 3D display and test out the lag. It’s made for games and has no tuner in it, so hopefully the lag is minimal.

Just because there’s no tuner doesn’t mean there’s going to be less lag. I have one monitor that matches up with my Asus frame for frame at native resolution but if you knock it down to 1280x720 the lag increases on the panel 10-20 ms just because of the way it scales.

Still, there are cheaper options than that TV with known low to no lag. Unless you REALLY want 3D…

More like if you want more features, not just minimal lag monitor. I’m not going to buy that because I do have an Asus already, and will get a bigger 3DTV and hope it doesn’t lag like crazy.

Has there been anything that displays component lagless?

I do a lot of streaming, and sometimes people want to play MK9/T6 on PS3. A buddy of mine has the Dell U2211H, which actually has component inputs on it, but I have no idea if it’s still sub-1 frame input lag when using component.

Yeah there has, my Sharp 27" CRT displays it lagless.

Joking aside, I’m not 100% on this but I’m pretty sure the Mono Price HD Box Pro can transcode a progressive component signal to VGA pretty much lag free.

There’s a lot of interest in this over at the shmups forum too, like fighting games, shmups are best played with as little input lag as possible, so thanks to SRK from myself and other shmuppers  (I love fighting games too but I’m terrible at them

I’d like to nominate my TV, which you can still find refurbished from a lot of places, it’s the Sony KDL-40Z4500. It’s an amazing TV for gaming and is great for watching movies etc too. My only small complaint is the tiny amount of backlight bleed in the corners but that’s not noticeable most of the time. As for the all important input lag times, the set clocks in at a wonderful 0 to 10ms of input lag, see http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/sony-kdl40z4500-20081124136.htm

Sony’s W4500 also has this wonderfully low input lag if game mode is turned on, according to HDTV Test.

Oh also someone asked “Has there been anything that displays component lagless?” I can vouch that the DVDO Edge video processor processes/upscales component 480i/480p to HDMI 720p or 1080p with almost no lag (course you’ll still need a monitor/HDTV with low lag to output it to).

hey pzlate i got a question for u. does the asus vh246h and the vh236h have the same input lag? i want to get the “evo standard” but i feel that extra inch would fit just right on my desk.

Why bothering go for Evo monitor now when there is much better options out there??

Dell U2312HM =1.1 ms input lag
Asus Pa238Q =2.2 ms input lag
LG W2363D = Zero ms input lag

Price, would be a main reason.

anyone ever tried
ASUS MT276HE Black 27" 2ms ?

its on sale now…thinking about making another cabinet lol…
