I’m practically forced to bring this up:
PortalVersus, brazilian once great and proud FG forum, a couple of years ago. There’s a thread called “You ask, Jon answers”, so a guy asked what the notation “~” means in something like MK~LK, then Jon answers “I don’t know”, so I posted that “~” means plink, just press MK and LK almost together, but pressing MK slightly earlier.
Jon didn’t liked that and posted back something like “You shouldn’t be answering questions on this thread, it’s my thread”, I’ve been on that forum for quite some time then and even knew and played online with the creator of the site, so I said “Whatever, this is not your forum and I’m just helping a guy”.
Next thing I know, all my posts in that thread were deleted (including the one that I just answered the question) and I got a warning/PM from a mod asking me to “respect Jon’s wishes and don’t answer questions there”. I’ve contacted the creator of the forum and he was sorry, but said that Jon was a helpful guy there, altough a little bitchy, and I should just ignore that and move on.
I thanked him and said this was the last time I would ever enter his site and leaved for good.
A few years later a friend of mine told me that PV is barely alive, almost all the original users/moderators left, including the founder, and the forum is completely abandoned.
So, revenge is a dish best served cold, I guess.

Ain’t exactly a secret but NickRocks is a poster there. I was too, but to say the least I don’t go there anymore.

I was just about to post about the HFboards. Friends of mine been banned for simple shit like disagreeing with trades or game lineups or starting goalies.
I have had to send out invites to a lot of people to get them back on
i once got perma banned for changing my name to one of the forum mods, the mod changed his name to some halloween related thing, then I inmediately took the nick name he previously had, by the time he wanted to change his name bak, it was already mine.

I banned myself from GFF. That site went down more times than Drake at a charity wheelchair basketball game…
Castel from TZ made a THREAD in CCC specifically towards me and another member for varying reasons, his “offical” reasoning my spamming, that was in the ranks with everyone else but more beloved due to me attempting to put more thought and jokes into my spampage, but mainly because I had recently went off on sarcasm/spam-poor girly men (and fugly girls) who probably cried to him. He didn’t even bother to warn me (or the other person) via PM. Almost everyone posting in that thread knew there were worst, angrier, and trollier members than us

I defended a guy who was being picked on by a small “feminist” mob on a blog. Not realizing how the reply system worked on there (there can only be like five replies to a branch before you have to make an entirely new comment) and knowing the owner’s temperament, I asked if i had been silenced or if I was merely being paranoid. The owner came back and declared I was being rude and I’d have to apologize before being allowed to comment again. I sent him an email telling him how much of a thin skinned cry baby he is and haven’t been back since.
Used to get warned at AnimeLeague all the time for proving people wrong, calling out stolen material, and giving criticism on reviews.
BTW I was a mod.

I got perma-banned by Wiz for calling bullshit on some “sale” srk was having on their evo shirts.
When we still had premium membership generally if you bought another year around Christmas time (while still having around 2-8 months left. Depending on how generous Santa Wiz was that year) you could get a name change on SRK. Which was awesome and premium membership was only $25 a year Iirc. I remember everyone laughing at me when I did it a few years prior because I wanted to have a space in my name.
Well Wiz wanted to do away with the premium section, rep and other stuff. Which I personally had no issues with (except for losing 15k worth of posts and all of my Galaga ships)
My issue with it was that you had to buy 2 evo shirts (which were $30 each +shipping) to get your name changed that year. It felt like he was taking advantage of the community and I let him know that. Very verbally.
Obviously is pissed him off.
I had a good run though. Everyone on the front page hated me cause id post pretty straight forward reasons why something that was posted wasn’t news or informing people not to buy x port of a game because it was a shitty port.
I even had a few parody accounts on the front page and a few parody twitters as well. Haha
I ended up taking out a lot of my frustrations with my current place in life out on SRK in general, like the local fighting game community I use hang out which (which I do genuinely feel bad about now) Which is why I also go banned a few times before being retconned by Wiz.
So now I have this piece of shit name.
