One time D3v didn’t like my comments about SFxT and infract me he then proceeded to go back and infract all of my posts I had made prior to that one in the same thread until I had enough infractions for a ban
I got banned from Geekbeat.tv for telling the admin that HE WASN’T GOD.
Yeah. Dude literally tells me that he’s god. I tell him that calling himself GOD was rather pretentious and that being a power-tripping admin was not a good idea. Not only did I get hit with the banhammer unblockable, but he went to every forum I posted in and deleted each and every single one of my posts.
Apparently, calling someone out is a no no almost anywhere. I got in trouble when I called out a pot stirrer on a car forum who was making threads to bash the new C7 Corvette. Usually happens to any new model sports car that comes out, the previous generation owners has a small niche that hate the new car. He even made threads in sections of the forums for models he didn’t even own and admitted he wasn’t an owner but wanted to hear their opinions. Surprisingly, a lot of posters like the C7, but he would quote those people and dismiss their posts and quote the posts of those bashing the car and respond, “Amen brother!” or some shit like that. One day, after reading one of his many anti C7 posts, I couldn’t help myself so I quoted him and made a sarcastic jab. No foul language, no slurs, no hurtful speech. It was something like, “Because making a topic in the Z06 section when you don’t own one to complain about the new C7 isn’t pot stirring…”
Next thing I know, I received a warning from a moderator and the description was trolling/pot stirring. The mod was a C6 owner, so it was a little iffy. I traded a few PMs with the mod who eventually told me it was the poster who reported me for trolling. I told the mod to check my posting history and find one post where I have instigated baiting or attempted to tear down any year Corvette. He finally admitted that this isn’t the first time he has had to “moderate” someone that the offended poster complained about and that honestly the offended party was working on a ban because even the admin was getting tired of his shit. The mod told me to leave the guy alone and let him dig his own grave. Normally, I don’t give a shit, you should be able to speak your mind…it’s when you speak your mind in every post for over a year and continue to try and cram it down everyone’s throat for that year who doesn’t feel the same way is when it starts to bother me.
Been banned on almost every gaming forum I’ve ever signed up for. Developers and fans are entirely too sensitive about their subpar garbage they call a game. You make a thread, listing 500 bugs they should have fixed in alpha, and they ban you because they “don’t like your tone”. Alright then, burn in the seven hellfires of mediocrity, retards.
Don’t even bother anymore except for nonofficial forums like this, the mongs are a lot easier to avoid on here.
Somebody on another off-topic section of a forum was talking about some dilemma concerning their friend/boyfriend/whatever, and they had really bad grammar. I assumed they were somebody in their early teens just ranting thoughtlessly. So I offered some short advice based on what little I could decipher and then I said at the end of my post “and try to use better grammar next time, mkay?” It turns out that the person was from a different country and English was not their first language. The entire remainder of the thread consisted of people telling me what a jerk I am, reminding me that it is a multicultural forum, calling me a grammar nazi, etc. Just tearing me apart until their was nothing left. Eventually a mod had to close the thread because it became completely derailed. And, of course, I was the one blamed for it and given an infraction.
If I recall correctly, the reason I went back was because more than a few folks were complaining about those specific messages and, I believe prior to that, I had laid down a strict policy due to all the shit that was going down in that board. That board was way out of control during those days and lines were being crossed that shouldn’t be crossed on a regular basis. Someone had to step in and I was the senior mod handling the forum at the time. Yes, in hindsight, it may have been too much, but at that time it seemed like something had to be done.
Funny thing is, outside of that time in the SFxT board, I’m actually not ban-happy. I believe it’s been years since I’ve banned an actual person who wasn’t a bot.
