Well i became unemployed around a month ago so it’s not looking to good.
If i manage to find a new job in either next month or the one after that i can just take a loan to go to EVO but if not i’ll probably not be able to go.
At this point i would rather just play it safe and try to keep spending down to increase the chances of going to EVO rather than risking EVO for Stunfest.
I am very interested in going to Stunfest, I was the first to post it on that annoying place… (Neo Empire)… but is there any more info about it around in English? It would really help if there was a site with good info to point people at. (help with hotels, transport etc)
I have to admit I’m a bit concerned about going to France when I speak next to no French too! hehehe, I’ve been all over Europe no probs, and been through France a few times - and it seems to be the one place I’m gonna get dirty looks for being a dumb mono-lingual Brit!
As for online HDR… I have some plans up my sleeve to re-re-revive that. But I’m waiting to talk to a couple of folks first… please send me feedback in the thread though fellas. Or aren’t you interested anymore?
Not much info available atm but I reckon more info will come soon. Ill vouch for the event though and say that last year was awesome. Not knowing french isn’t an issue. I was there last year with the UK crew, none of whom spoke french and we had no language problems.
And I’m interested dude, I’ll give you some feedback.
Thanks Fulaani! I really wanna know what the “casuals” setup will be like at Stunfest too, as it’s quite a way to travel just to play HDR, and it’s the only game I’m interested in. I had to practically fight with organisers to keep an HDR casual setup running (almost) all the time at SVB, but ideally you need more than one setup!
Website should be available soon with all needed information.
'till then, if you need quick local info, Dav35 and I are actually living in Rennes, so don’t hesitate to ask for anything, otherwise Fulaani should be more aware regarding “foreign competitor issues”.
As said, not speaking French should not be a problem.
An interesting info you all should know : after a short poll, it was decided that SSF2X will have it’s own tournament too ! SF2 enthusiasts may now compete in both :
**- SF2X : 1 vs 1 tournament,
SF2HDR : 2 vs 2 tournament.**
Dunno if it was obvious or not, but HDR is actually a team tourney …
@Fulaani : some changes compared to last year : huge hall, twice as big than last year, no more roof, more setups & cabinets. That was the good part … problem is we don’t actually know if it will be closed at night or not (for safety/insurance issues), so we can’t tell for now if it’s possible to sleep there (and/or play all night) … were you planning to book into a hotel or something ?
It’s not decided yet, but in case of problem, I should have some place to house a few guys
If you have a team it might be fun! I’ve never seen SF as a team thing though… half the fun of SF is about it all being up to you. But I’m not down on this, I’m really interested. How does this 2 v 2 team work?
Dunno how it will run in Stunfest, but last local HDR Team Ranking ran like this :
Prerequisites : Akuma banned, fixed character for all tourney, characters have to be different in the same team.
Now let’s say two teams have to fight :
1.) A member of each team plays Shi Fu Mi, one round :karate:
2.) Shi Fu Mi looser team announces the dude who will play at first.
3.) Shi Fu Mi winner team can now decide and nominate who will play at first.
4.) Both matches are played.
5.) If both member of one team won their match, team has won.
In case of draw game, winners fight each other in a last match.
Once again, dunno for now how it will exactly run, but it should be somewhat like that.
I was skeptical at first, but it was very fun and allowed some nice score reversals. :badboy:
I thought Stunfest would have run a classical 1vs1 tourney rather than a team one but hey, why not ?
(Hope this was clear, my English is way perfectible …)
