Strider 2014 Available Now

Word on the street is that movement is locked tot he analog stick (no dpad support).

Will still buy, but that’s some weird-ass design choice there.

It was a cash grab, added a jump and really didn’t feel like Bionic commando at all. It was gutter trash! Throws rose.

On topic: Bought Strider, I agree that it is pretty easy. I wish they had a button that you held for wall grabs because I keep accidentally sticking to walls that the most inopportune times. I also would giggle like a schoolgirl if they supported the D pad or arcade sticks. Made it to the third boss and I’ve enjoyed it so far. I also wish the screen was backed away further since enemies in the game have sniper vision and can shoot you from really far away, it gets pretty annoying when the screen is zoomed in on Strider for no reason and bullets are flying from every direction.

Minor things all around. This game could use d-pad support. Not like you need to walk at all.

I just beat Pei Pooh. Also I have this on PS4. Charge slash is like the greatest addition to Hiryu’s repertoire.

This game is really fun. Kind of easy, but all the Stider games are. Isn’t a bad thing, though. I like a nice casual game.

I got wait until tomorrow to play this. Damn me for pre-purchasing the PC version

Yeah but you are getting the soundtrack.

I preordered strider for steam hopefully I can use my arcade stick for the game.

Reading some the mainstream reviews is painful. Like the Game Informer review criticizes the game for not having a fast travel system. The fuck would a Strider game need fast travel for?

But but every open world games NEEDS a fast travel system!!! Don’t you know that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

-.- smh

If it takes longer than 4 seconds to go from area to area it must have a fast travel.

I’m downloading the demo right now, if I like the game, I’m gonna import the physical disc. Can’t stand digital only shit. But I hope I enjoy it, can never go wrong with a platformer in most cases.

Oh god why? Lol. It’s a short game so if ever you need to go back some place you’ll probably have new gear to access new areas. I think a lot of reviewers have been conditioned by other slower paced metroidvania titles. This one is NOT slow paced. Strider IS fast travel.

I stopped for now after getting panther run. I do miss the sheer enemy variety from previous games. If a sequel is ever made I want it NES style with a separate hub world and levels that span the globe.

I remember strider 2 was alittle on the sparse side in its release but honestly does no one remember how quick these games were? These games are meant to be speed ran like any capcom game. fast travel? shit whatever.

Man, i’m ass at this game. I like it though.

Nobody gonna answer my question?

Nigga, be patient. Give people time to beat the game and shit.

Was gonna go with the PS3 version since I already had funds in my wallet, but after playing the demo, gonna have to join Hawkingbird aboard the PC train.

Moving with the analog stick was a much bigger turn-off than I thought it’d be, made even worse with the DS3’s loose sticks. Should DH choose not to patch in optional d-pad support, at least I’ll have the means to swap the controls myself on PC.

Now to play the waiting game…

We have to beat it first haha. 4-6 hours is what most reviews say. It’s a fast game. It’s the longest Strider I’ve ever played considering 1 could be beat in 15 mins and 2 in like 30 or 45 mins. And no this new game does not feel padded at all. Except a few gauntlet of enemies sections it’s all pretty varied.

Taking some advice and started this game on hard. I got bodied for the first 30 minutes due to you having no skills and low health, so expect to die alot at first, but once you get the hang of things and start slowly getting powered up, things get a bit easier.

Also the soundtrack to this game is fucking awesome, I love it. Im diggin the metroid map style for this game, I was doubtful about it at first but it’s grown on me.

Wait the PC has D pad support? CURSE MY IMPULSE BUYING!!
