I wonder how this will stack up to the final version of SoR Remake, in which Sega totally botched. They had a chance to pick that up, only for it to be shutdown immediately. If they want this game to be good, they need to take a few notes from bombergames. Multiple paths, tons of unlockables, more weapons, etc.
If I had to guess, this Axel will be more power focused than the previous ones. I still think SoR2 is the best Axel in terms of power and technique. A lot of people seem to like SoR3 Blaze over SoR3 Axel, but I think my favorite is SoR1 Blaze. In SoR Remake, SoR1 Blaze is a freaking beast, all of her combos can be delayed for huge stun lock, great blitz attack (up there with SoR2 Skate), excellent movement, just a great character.
I think they need to put Adam in this game. He has always been a staple for SoR games, but heās been absent since SoR1 which is just unacceptable (unless you played remake). Max was well received, but Zan not so much. SoR3 in general was just a weird direction for the franchise; thereās tons of plot holes in the US version, no Ash in the US version, dumb storyline in both versions, really just a big mess. Skate (or Sammy) is pretty bad here too, I always wonder why they changed his specials in this game.
But yeah, Iāll probably pick this up like I did with Sonic Mania, just for nostalgia. I have high hopes that I will like it, but only time will tellā¦
Is this now a thing? I remember first playing SoR2 in the early 2000ās after only playing SoR on the Genesis since the early-mid 90ās and it was pretty obvious. I actually preferred (and still do) SoRās OST, gameplay and aesthetic.
Not crazy about the aesthetic in the new SoR4 but Iāll be keeping an eye on this one.
Fix Axels look, thatās the least appealing thing within this entire SoR4 Trailer imo, and my only really big gripe. He looked far too wide with the entire outer shirt hanging, and I strongly feel that slimming him down more to match his older counterpart would be 10x better.
For me personally, Iāve always felt that SoR2 Axel looked the best, with SoR3 Axel being too buff for my taste.
Also, please give us back Fully Invincible SoR2 Grand Upper! I so want to spam this move to my hearts content again.
If we get Max into this game, along with Shiva being playable, then Iām 100% sold!
With a few art direction changes (Axel model needs to be modified and improved seriously), and the proper inclusion of other beloved characters, along with the always amazing music soundtrack, and youāll hit a jackpot with SoR4.
Dear all the bitching in this thread. Just maybe maybe theyāll have other costumes? And are you getting paid to do any artwork for a company anyway? Same with the FGC. Always wanting everything āpatchedā or changed to fit your tastes when at best youāll buy SOR4 for $20-$30. Just complaining till you get everything changed to your way only doesnāt work.
This is legit the reason why I donāt play fighting games much anymore. The toxic community" killed it for me. And I could care less about all the āsaltā too. I know Iām going to take my wins and losses.
The design is okay, if Axel is indeed a hobo now but if he is not a hoboā¦ it needs to be slightly rework in some areas.
I do like the slight alteration of @truendymion which made the jacket more separate in his torso and hips. The jacket less version of @cestus which is complementary to his previous looks is okay if Axel isnāt a hobo in the story.
Even if he is a hobo, it doesnāt look good. SoR is a beatemup before itās a story, it needs to look good far more than it needs to look inline with whatever setting they cooked up. Or rather, the story needs to fit the designs, not the other way around, for a gameplay-centric game like this.
I understand where youāre coming from when their are simply complaints just to complain, however you really canāt see the justification whatsoever when their are those of us who look at the SoR4 Axel and disagree with his current design?
The look of Axel is almost as bad as when Capcom made B-Boy Ryu costume for SF:V (WTF was Capcom thinking here), it doesnāt make any sense and more importantly it just looks bad.
You can easily change the look of the character a bit, while also keeping him faithful to how he originally was. This Axel looks like he went out to the dumpster found whatever he had and put it on. Honestly, if he didnāt even have the blonde hair and this was kept black and white, I wouldāve had no idea that this was Axel at all.
His character design just does not look good, and an update to him is most definitely needed.
If they fix the fundamentals of his anatomy, and rework the way they have his clothes hanging, I wonāt grumble about the beard and Salvation Army close out sale attire.
