I’ll be burned in ‘bad fighting game hell’ for saying this but the touch screen could potentially be used for instant special moves and supers. Sort of like EO mode in CVS2, but worse.
ISM changes on the fly perhaps?
You know, they don’t have to use both screens in every game on NDS and all.
I figure taking the life bar and super bar out of the fight would be the best idea with traditional fighters. Try playing Third Strike after removing all on-screen displays in the extra options; it would look sorta like that.
I’ve always thought how absolutely primitive and almost barbaric in nature life and super bars were. I think an evolution in traditional fighters would be one where there are no bars to speak of and you gauge a fighter’s stamina based on their physical appearance (tired and so on).
Hajime no Ippo is like that. No life, stamina bars. There is special attacks. Damage is detemined how well punches are connected. That was years ago I dont know if anything like that is used today.
In PSP Darkstalkers you can adjust the screen size. Go to Screen Settings and change it from Wide to Normal to have a normal sized screen as opposed to a stretched out one.
I don’t see how they are milking the cow on this, unless Alpha 3 has been released on PSP already. If it has, then yeah they definitely milking the cow. Plus playing other people wireless is an incentive.
Oh how I wish I can magically go back in time to early 2000 when my bud(who worked at Babbages) and I would have SVC:MotM, Samurai Showdon II, and Gals Fighter tournys every two weeks.
SNK sorely needs to revive those SD fighters(keep the chibi look) for the current handhelds, and Cardfighters Clash as well. They suck if they don’t!
Alpha 3 has been ported about half the number of times as the Street Fighter 2 incarnations. It’s really sad. And why are they so afraid of porting the Street Fighter 3 series?
I personally think Capcom was very stupid for not putting Alpha 3 in the Anniversary Collection. Plus, if you just bought this game on Game Boy Advance, what, you’d buy this just to play Ingrid?
