so guys how is rolento jab now. can i do any pressure with it. i am sure he will be fine because of his mobility and good pokes. reading the changes it seems they nerf everything from recovery, block stun and gave it more pushback.
edit: nvm just tested it. indeed more pushback but rolento should be okay i think.
Raven execution barrier got a lot higher. You can still basically full corner carry but you have to use dash unders and you can’t jab after a windcross now, you have to do a cr.hp raw so he’s a lot harder to combo with. His combos coming in from a tag aren’t that much worse, you only lose one cr.hp, but his combos setting up a tag out are way worse. You can’t corner carry as much before a tag out and you also can’t do st.hk to setup jumpins for incoming characters unless you do it so early in the combo it’s pointless. EX combos do more damage proportionally now but it’s really not a lot to make them worthwhile still.
cr.jab replaces st.jab, it has better range anyways so it’s not a big loss just 1 extra frame startup.
LP Ninja Star doesn’t appear to be teleport cancelable anymore which isn’t in the patch notes. THANKS CAPCOM

With Raven you can do Cr.Lp, Cr.Hp (link) into loop. And you can do it with St.Lp into Cr.Hp, but it’s a one frame link which gets easier with plinking.

You’re missing my point. Prepatch you could do whatever(jab jab cr.strong) xx windcross, jab, cr.hp dash cancel st.hp xx lk alter ego which was his bnb. Now if you hit a jab after windcross the ender drops, so you have to do raw cr.hp which is a hard link depending on the character you are doing it on, and it makes it far more likely that you will dash under before the followup. If you try to easy mode it up now with something like cr.lp, cr.mk xx lk alter ego it works, but you don’t get the positioning for a 50/50 jumpin like you used to. So he pretty much doesn’t have an easy mode bnb now which sucks for people who couldn’t do the hard one reliably.
Going straight into fierces is far worse now because you get less of them, but it was a practical corner combo because windcross hits funny in the corner, getting 2 before the ender instead of 3 knocks off not that much damage, but it’s still kind of obnoxious.
Dashing under on purpose now is far more practical because it’s harder to wall carry, but intentional dash unders are pretty difficult which adds to his execution difficulty.
I see a lot of potential in her, she can close space REALLY well. I really don’t like her play style though.
Dudley is gonna be popular. All those 1F links I learned in AE are 2-3 frame links now. And chains to EX MGB is too good.
Sorry, Veserius. I just wanted Raven users to know that he has option, albeit not so great ones now. I don’t know how I feel about his nerfs, I liked his mix up game, but I hated his jabs.

Actually your post made me test something. The JP doesn’t get messed up for his combos until the 2nd cr.hp, so you can actually do confirm to cr.hp, juggle with windcross and do something from there, maybe some weird dash loop of some sort.
I don’t know how his juggle properties are now, well apart from the nerf, but maybe he could have other juggle possibilities?
yeah the guide actually talks about a cr.strong loop of some sort. gonna see what I can get. atm cr.hp xx windcross(charge for a bit), cr.mp cadc, st.jab, st.hp xx lk alter ego works. Gonna see how I can extend it, it’s hard right now though cause when you let go off the windcross determines the juggle height.
Seriously check out her blade stance ( :d: + :p:x3 or by doing :HCF:+:p:xx:p: to cancel dash into blades) then hit any kick button… she doesnt attack, she instead builds chunks of meter like a fucking boss and with proper spacing it can be abused much better than the CADC ever could.
