Street Fighter X Tekken Arcade FightStick PRO - Official Thread

I got this stick and it wobbles a bit when you press one of the corners. I removed the rubber feet and it still did this. Tried it on a couple of different surfaces to make sure it’s not the table. The bottom seems to not be even. Not a deal breaker but it is kind of annoying. Has anyone had sticks that have done this? I’m thinking of sending back for warranty repair.

Yeah, mine is slightly warped as well, but I play on my lap so I don’t really notice it. It just rocks back and forth when I put it on a table.

did you mod it? if you happened to disconnect the JLF for any reason you could of possibly attached the wiring harness backwards… if this is the case disconnect the JLF harness… flip the connector 180 and re-attach to the joystiick…
if you didnt mess with it contact madcatz…

Just got my stick yesterday in the mail. Checked to see if mine wobbles…and it does. Also, the black plastic has some scratch lines in it from how the plastic was molded. Bothered me enough to return it for an exchange since amazon customer service is really good.

Mine wobbles a little but it’s barely noticeable. Actually I didn’t even notice until I read this. I’m not worried about it, mainly because I play on my lap, but even on a table it doesn’t really wobble unless you are trying to make it wobble.

I had that same line scratch on my new stick as well. Not bothering me to much but the thing that bothered me about mine was the actual box itself. The box was ripped opened from one of the corners in which you unfold the box, and this stick was brand new to. Well at least that’s how GameStop sold it to me. I did not even notice it until i opened it.I would like to return it but I think with GameStop and their bs policies they won’t even allow it without the price sticker that was attached to it. Is there anyway madcatz can help me out with this or am I out of luck?

Is there any way to make this thing work on PC?

I plug it in and it identifies as a “MadCatz FightStick Neo”, then tells me there are no drivers to be found. Any ideas?

It should already work on PC. I have the PS3 version and it works perfectly. Mine is identified as a TE though.

Definitely doesn’t… sort of.

I plugged it in again after clearing drivers, and now it works. Except now the RT and LT buttons are non-functional. They work just fine on Xbox, but not on the PC. I had to switch out the LB and RB buttons to make it functional on PC. Any ideas as to why that would be the case? I really don’t want to be “that guy” that has to switch his buttons every tournament because he’s got a messed up layout.

Your Button 9 and Button 10 do not work?

That’s right. They work just fine on Xbox, but not on PC.

Aren’t RT and LT mapped to an axis on the PC? In the Game Controllers panel, they should be manipulating the Z-axis. If they don’t work in PC games, the game doesn’t support a 360 controller or mapping axises other than X and Y.

For PC, there are a variety of third-party apps that will map the joystick lever to the directional buttons on your keyboard. Sometimes that’s the only way the joystick lever will work with games. No problems with the computer picking up the presence of 30mm/24mm buttons with the exception of an LED “Turbo” button on a Hori RAP (3 SE).

I use X-Padder 5.3 and it seems to be fine for Vanguard Princess and MAME. There are other programs like Joy2Stick, DSPadder, etc., but so far I’ve found X-Padder to be easier to use; it’s a lot more intuitive and fine for my needs.

360 versions of the licensed joysticks should be compatible with the official downloadable Microsoft 360 controller drivers.

Again, my problems have been with the joystick LEVERS, not the actual 30mm buttons. Those seem to register on my PC fine (Windows XP, AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core, NVideo GeForce 6150 LE graphics card).

Don’t believe the hype that every USB peripheral works out of the box without some kind of driver! It may be true for controllers on game systems (that are officially supported; auto support/downloads with OS upgrades) but seems to be less and less true for PC’s in general… My PC does recognize the controller chip (Hori PCB) within my joysticks but, again, the joystick LEVER itself is NOT working within games without a third party driver like X-Padder 5.3… This same issue does NOT seem to affect the one joystick with the MC Cthulu PCB that I’ve tried on the same PC.

Right now, my issues have been with two of my Hori HRAP’s (a 3 SE and V3 SA) but I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see it affect my Mad Catz TE’s, too. These are all PS3 versions of the respective joysticks…

No, for the FightStick PRO, the LT and RT are actually Digital.
There are no Z-Axis for the FightStick PRO.

That’s what I’m finding odd. The drivers flit between this mystical “Madcatz FightStick Neo” (which is so unknown to the internet that a google search turns up 0 results) and a standard XB360 controller driver, which works except for the RT and LT buttons.

MCZ wouldn’t be stupid enough to include a Z-axis on their stick PCBs (which as I understand it are the same as the old TE models, no?) so I’m mystified as to what the problem is.

Is there some way of downloading TE drivers and just saying “the driver is here” to Windows? I’ve not been able to find such a thing. I asked in #capcom recently and apparently the V.S identifies as a TE as well.

The standard 360 controller driver works will all 360 controllers, including MadCatz’s fight sticks. You don’t need a custom driver for it despite the name that comes up in Game Controllers.

RT and LT still register as an analog axis on PC if you’re using the standard 360 controller drivers. That they are physical buttons on an arcade stick instead of the analog triggers on a game pad does not change this behavior.

And just FYI, buttons 9 and 10 on a 360 controller are the buttons that you have to push down the analog sticks to press (the equivalent of L3 and R3 on Sony pads).

They used a soft rubber on the corners which is why it wobbles when you put pressure on it. You must be mashing pretty hard if it’s wobbling. Try setting it on a hard surface.

I don’t know how much you mod.
But I’ve been through hundreds of controller.
So I see of the different configurations being used.

It is true Button 9 and Button 10 is Left Click, Right Click.
For a Controller that has the Analog Left Stick and Right Stick.

But LT and RT on every Mad Catz FightStick is Button 9 and Button 10.
The FightPad though, is the Z-Axis for Triggers, like normal.

Maybe Mad Catz is just labeling Left Click and Right Click as LT and RT.
For some reason I do not know.

Just bought this by my local GameStop. Last one on PS3. Now I’m scared of opening this due to all the issues I’ve been reading :frowning:

That’s how I’ve been checking if it wobbles, by setting it on a hard surface. It’s not the rubber corners either because someone took all four of them off and the case still wobbles. It’s because the plastic or metal panel is warped.
