Yes, it’s definitely not the feet but the body itself. It doesn’t affect gameplay but it seems like Madcatz is lacking some quality control here when it’s not isolated to one or two sticks. And my stick also has the exact same scratch on the top right as Motoyuki. Didn’t even notice that before until the picture was posted.
Seconded, not only because of the modding potential but because of that slant on the FS Pro. If you have short hands and/or fingers the slant isn’t an issue but if you have long hands and/or fingers, like I do, then it’s really not that comfortable or accessible (not as bad as the Hori VX SA mind you).
I appreciate that this is a complete contrast to what I said earlier when I first got my FS Pro, but the honeymoon period is over and the limitations are now very much apparent. It’s wide base sticks all the way for me now!
After reading a few of the issues people are having with their sticks, I decided to see if mine has that wobbling problem. I usually play on my lap so this has never been a concern for me. So I decided to play on my table instead and I haven’t have any issues at all. Not sure exactly what would cause this if its not due to the feet of the stick. The overall construction of the body of my stick seems pretty sturdy.
Mine has the same scratches but doesn’t wobble; it’s not a big enough deal for me to get a new one but still.
Anyone selling their ps3 limited edition pro stick or know where I might still be able to get one? I really like the red over the black.
I just startted using my SfxT pro fightstick and after just minutes of use it started making a squeaky noise whenever I press down, and only down and it’s not the click sound it makes, its squeaky does anyone else has had/have this issue? is it a sign that the stick is gonna break or something will the warranty cover me and send me a new one?
ey guys questions. the metal plate at the bottom, does it easily rust? i had a ps2 hori stick before… had a metal bottom, rusted like hell. so im thinking putting some felt paper underneath, if i do that , what type of adhesive should i use?
IIRC the metal plates MadCatz have been using have gone through a resistant treatment. So they should never get as bad as the metal on a Namco stick.
I don’t know that corrosion isn’t a potential future issue on ALL the joysticks that get sold today.
I’ve noticed rust on the faceplate AND baseplates of all the Agetec controllers I’ve bought online. There looks to be the potential start of it on the faceplates and baseplates of some of my HRAP controllers, too. At least on the edges of the metal faceplates and baseplates. It’s the quality of the metal that’s being used. It just doesn’t get the treatment by the manufacturer(s) or is the kind of metal to resist that process forever if it’s exposed to acidic sweat. (I remember what my lacquer{gold surfaced}-coat trumpet looked like at the end of high school! It just reacted badly with my sweat and I cleaned that instrument quite a bit over the years…!) I would imagine that most of the TE’s and HRAP’s are not going to be in such great shape years from now judging by what I’ve seen with a lot of the Namco sticks being sold. They have just been used at tourneys quite a bit and go through the regular process of heavy sweat and minimal-to-no wash/wiping whatsoever… Not that I think it’s going to help the metal if it hasn’t been pre-treated by the player in the first place!
As far as the baseplates go, what can be done is to rub off as much corrosion as possible with steel wool/fine metal files/sand paper and then spray it with Rustoleum. Rustoleum does sell a clear-coat in addition to solid colors. (Black looks best besides clear-coat.) Unless you cover up existing artwork or can remove it (like the TE’s), I don’t know how you’re supposed to spray the faceplate on both sides. You have to spray both sides to minimize future corrosion, along the edges, everywhere etc. and let it dry for at least a day.
With the Agetecs, I just said, “The heck with it!”, did plenty of filing/scraping off of the rust and sprayed with a black coat over the entire baseplate… (Did this for the faceplates, too, but with me buying the plexi artguards from Art I don’t think I’m ever going to the faceplates for anything but potential joystick mount fixes in the future if the plastic case ever cracks… The faceplate metal is thin enough to be used in the INTERIOR of that case as a patch.) Never gonna see the baseplate again (unless I replace parts) and I don’t have any intention of selling that case as a collector’s item. They just come in too rough a shape most times to be sold as anything but decent condition even if you fix them!
Out of all the sticks I have bought from madcatz it kind of seems Quality Control is kind of lacking, I have had to return multiple sticks, and my chun li TE has a very very tiny “crack” in the art. Seems its even worse with the new sticks.
What causes the plate on the bottom to rust?
Science.
sweat if ur playing without shorts
Just wondering…
Is this stick compatible with PC? I was going to get a PS3 version but I wouldn’t buy it if it wasn’t compatible with PC
Oops, mistake Post.
Will not delete this.
bumping. I really need to know
yes
Yes, it works perfectly.
Thank you
lmao, awesome thank you!!! I don’t usually play naked so and my sticks never touch bare leg so I guess i’ll be ok lol
