Street Fighter X Tekken Arcade FightStick PRO - Official Thread

they are already out? wtf!

i know, i was surprised when i got the message from gamestop to come pick it up…really early release…

curious to know if the Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate is what i need for this stick (sfxt pro), if when i get it and don’t like the square gate?

also should i buy it from here ? http://www.lizardlick.com/Sanwa-GT-Y-Octagonal-Restrictor-Plate_p_242.html

it says availability: pre-order

edit: and sold out here http://www.focusattack.com/sanwa-gt-y-octagonal-restrictor-gate/

yes i bought the octagonal restricter and its great!! highly highly recommend it than the 4 way…

i ordered via focus attack and got it in a timely manner…whatever u dont…DONT ORDER FROM LIZARDLICK!!

will more than likely purchase one, along with a bat top and adapter, question now is from where (doesn’t seem like i can get one from either of those sites)…

Came to the board to tell you guys that the SF X Tekken sticks are shipping if you pre-ordered from Gamestop, but it looks like someone already beat me to it. Gamestop sent me a text yesterday saying mines had shipped to the store. I went to pick it up today but had to leave it cause I left my debit card at home. My good friend who’s a manager at Gamestop let me peep it though. From my first impressions it felt heavy imo but I can’t say for sure how it compares to the other sticks out. I only own one fightstick and it’s the tvc stick so I can’t really make a comparison. Also I read it was mostly metal on the madcatz official site for those of you wondering about the material. I’ll have more when I pick it up for you guys.

Also anyone know if it will be possible to put new artwork on the pro out of curiosity?

when is newegg shipping their sticks anyone know?

release is on the 6th for newegg, so i assume my order will be charged and shipped on that date, along with the game too

edit: fyi focusattack says they’ll have Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plates in stock by end of next week

the stickz are out on madcatz i hope they dont get sold out =(

I’ve been having mine since thursday and all I gotta say the stick looks and feels awesome, it feels like TE stick, but it could just be me

newegg began shipping the pro stick and sd fightpads yesterday, will have both tomorrow!

I am probably going to check some Gamestops tonight to see if they have it. Is the art still applied by a sticker? Also, is the template the same as the red special edition fight stick pro?

Hey guys,

Got some Pro covers incoming.

Notice in this picture the middle bottom screw hole is not cut. This was done so you won’t have the screw in your way, and will be an option for your cover.

Now for the bottom cover

And for those who really want to make a statement, a bottom Full cover

So here’s the run down. The plexi cover is actually 1/32" acrylic! That’s right, something that isn’t normally heard of. This is a special kind of acrylic called Impact Modified Acrylic and is at least 10x stronger than normal acrylic (plexiglass). It took me a while to finally procure 1/32" material that is safe to laser cut, but it’s finally here!

Before, polycarbonates (Lexan) were the only 1/32" options, but laser cutting it would yield burned and discolored edges while producing potentially toxic fumes. Now, with 1/32" acrylic, it can be cleanly laser cut. The advantage of acrylic is that it has more clarity (crystal clear specifically for displays) and is less prone to scratches compared to polycarbonate.

Here’s a pic of how thin it will show up on top of the panel, on top of artwork.

Because of it’s extra durability and extreme flexibility, it is the best option for this fightstick because of the countersunk holes for the top screws. So when the screws are applied, it won’t cause cracking in the screw hole areas.

Additionally, I will be providing the necessary screws for top application. I will also include small washers that helps extends the head of the screw so that it will cover more surface area to support against the countersunk area of the screw holes. You won’t need it for the 1/32" Acrylic, but if you want less pressure in those areas, the washers will still help. If anyone still wants 1/16" acrylic, it is still an option and the washers will definitely help against cracking in the screw areas.

The set of Black Oxide screws come in a set of 6, with matching washers.

Hope you guys like what’s coming up. There’s a lot of site updates and settings before it will be on my website, so please give me another week or two to set everything up.

Until then, here are the PSD’s to play with. Thanks for time!

Also, more details on the 1/32" acrylic, and other updates, in my thread: Art’s Hobbies.

I got my PRO for ps3 a few days ago. I liked it a lot, but then my friend brought over his TE Round 1 that I never saw before. I should’ve just bought that. it feels better because of the weight, the buttons and stick are a BIT bigger, and it just sits better in my lap. The PRO just feels like a toy compared to the TE. I might sound harsh right now, but the TE just seemed better in every way to me.

The shape of the Bottom Full Acrylic is so cool.
Makes me want a FightStick PRO just for it .
Laugh.

I know right? When I saw that I was like, I gotta try and get a plexi designed for that, heh.

Quick question about these sticks, (and one to Art if the answer turns out as I expect):

I don’t own one of these but I’m thinking about the feasibility of applying contact to the top of the stick, and then wrapping it around the sides so that it doesn’t peel and go nasty. Does the metal faceplate start directly where the plastic ends, or is there some kind of clearance/bezel as you might find in say, a Qanba Q4? If there’s no clearance at all it’d be a perfect candidate for the contact, but if there is…

Art, with these upcoming plexis, would they be able to withstand enough heat from say, a hairdryer, to not warp or bend? The contact is apparently capable of molding to surfaces and I’d try to neaten the edges so that it doesn’t look all nasty and horrible: but I’m not sure how much heat it would need, or for how long. Think the chances are good, or would I be pushing it with this new thinner stuff?

So there is no difference (guts wise) between SFxTekken Pro and the Round 2 TE?

Im sorry if this has been answered in past pages.
