srkdotcom coupon is still not working for me. is it exempt?
Hey markman, for those who pre ordered like myself, do we get tracking numbers?
Wheres the interior shots Mark?
Patience. Heâs said they will come when heâs less busy with work.
They mightâve disabled coupons for this item.
I realize other sticks have slanted wrist portions to, my problem with this one is that it is far too much. I donât think any other stick out there has a slant that substantial, to the point where it seems unusable really.
Who is really going to be laying their wrists on it at that angle? In the end it looks more for show than effectiveness.
Hello guys, apologies for this late post. Here is a pic of the bottom/interior of the FightStick PRO. The stick actually started shipping this morning after this weekendâs orders processed.
First off, Mad Catz does not condone you opening up your stick/voiding your warranty unless qualified to do so. If you feel you are qualified, go for it, just know you voided your warranty and we are not obligated to warranty your product.
Alright, on with the show⌠First off! We wanted to take a more secure approach for the stick. As you know there are no top/hex screws on the FightStick PRO, instead there are TEN (10) screws on the bottom. Two different screw sizes. This may make people whine at the sheer thought of it, but hear me out.
There are smaller screws (same size as the ones on the SE) and then there are the 4 rubber feet held screws (bigger). Obviously the 10 screws total is to keep the bottom panel secured, however, the 4 rubber footheld screws are enough to keep the bottom plate on/secure. So modders will most likely eliminate using the smaller SE style screws and take them out completely. From there, you have 4 larger/standard size screws that are big/wonât strip and easy to take off. So with modding in mind/and ease of use. 4 large standard size cross screws and youâre in. Hereâs the pics:
Bottom Panel. You can see most of the screws here (the others are hiding under the bigger ones).
The larger screw.
The smaller (SE Style) screw.
Now you have access to the interior. Swapping sticks & buttons should be a breeze. If you need to gain access to the top panel/artwork area for an art mod, then youâll have to go further and unscrew the easy to find screws (notice the red gunk) around the frame of the FightStick PRO. If you are familiar with the SE FightStick, the artwork is applied in the same manner. You donât have to take the stick apart, but you can if you want.
The bottom white frame was designed in mind with a thin layer of plastic, perfect for mounting âotherâ PCB solutions.
The Start & Back/Select buttons are a lot more accessible than the TE FightSticks. As you can see in the picture. Also, the PCB area is underneath where start/select are.
Sorry this is just a short/quick look into the insides. I didnât have much time to pull one apart today. Hope this helps somewhat.
this may have been asked already, and sorry if it has, but is this new design going to be the primary construction for all the TE sticks to be released over the next year or two? or will the older TE constructions (with new art as new games are released) remain the main forms and this will be more of a side thing?
i mostly want to know if whatever comes next is going to be based of this build, or off the TE 1 or 2 builds?
This is going to live alongside the Tournament Edition FightStick. This is not replacing it.
I could care less about replacing artwork but Iâm sure many guys/gals on here will bitch about the way to replace it. Iâm digging the easier access to the start/select buttons though!
MarkMan, what will the regular Fightstick Pro color scheme look like? Thatâs what Iâll base my decision if I get this limited edition version or not. Thanks!
I like how easy it looks to get to the buttons and stick - but are there any pictures of the next stage down, so we can see the boards and what weâve got in there?
Love the easy access to the buttons! Does this use a TE(S) pcb?
I believe its the same as TES(chun li too) the home stuff on front side looks the same âi know its not the only part that mattersâ the underside underneath has 3 ribbon connections but now the pins are located undereath start and back. Also the ground and signal connection are the same note the two ribbons protruding and the fact that it looks similar in design to the TE and TES. I assume that all the ribbons that go to the "main pcb are undereath the white panel located down from the signal and ground terminal note the jlf ribbon and the usb going there as well.
Damn markman 9 screw bro was all of that necessary to remove the inner panel but now KITTYs probably wont fit due to the space limitation.
MarkMan will there ever be a SE version of this Stick for poor people like me?
If you canât justify the $160 price of this then IMO the best mass produced stick under $100 is the WWE Brawlstick (replace the artwork if you donât like it, LOL). Gamestop has it for $60 & has much better buttons & joystick lever than the previous SF4 SE.
I justified the price as I had to have one///next week should be a good week. The omni and this shipped so I should have both next week LOL
Ballarific!!! Ya, Iâm kinda reluctant right now cuz I just gotta Qanba Q3 EMP & an MK Klassic fight stick all within 2-weeks.
Fightstick Pro - bloody Hell⌠10 screws removed and still no access to the PCB for dual modding, or installing an optical joystick like Toodleâs spark. It looks like the whole thing will need to be taken apart?
Those hex bolts will be sorely missed, especially as the warranty seal is even more difficult to bypass. A way to get around it could be through the use of a hot air gun to melt the sticker glue⌠depends if they use the same stickers as found on a TE/SE stick.
It looks like crap to me and it will only look good when people start modding it. I thank its a cheap board that was made noing that it would sell and get modded.
