Street Fighter X (Cross) Tekken/Tekken X (Cross) Street Fighter

i’m surprised no one caught this from Ono’s interview @ Andriasang.com:
“He said the iPhone version of SFIV has somewhat of an answer to this desire – a feature that lets players feel that they were able to do tough moves.”

one button special moves => EASY MODE.

also game felt really cheap because of the copy/paste models. you can get away with that in a 2D game (since it’s harder to remake and animate), but COME ON at least apply different shaders to characters textures to make it look a bit more fresh.

Seeing a lot of hate for this game whish is fucking crazy to me. How can fighting game fans hate on this? Shit looks crazy good already. I’m almost more hyped to play this than MVC3. Hopefully my girls Asuka and Lili make it in. Also fuck yeah with the chain combos. Fuck that link shit.

I like the Tekken characters in the sfiv graphic style. Kazuya looked sick. So did Nina. Speaking of Nina her tag ultra was nasty. She straight rushed Ryu.

To me, the game looks like a more offensive minded SF4. Which will be very interesting to play I think.

The game is not coming for another 2 whole years. Allot can change.

There will be more than the SF/Tekken characters in this game. Believe it. Judging on the comments made by the Producer, and the stage shown itself (Servbot cameo), that lets me know that at the least, we will see more other worldly cameo’s and appearances in the game.

Maybe Pac-Man or some shit.

As long as the game is better than IV (even by millitits) then i don’t care

I never thought in a million years that this crossover would ever happen, I’m not a big Tekken fan but I can’t help but smile at this, such exciting times for fighting games fans.

I get the feeling that Kazuya kicking Dan’s ass in that trailer is symbolic to SNK getting knocked away by Tekken and stepping forward as the new challenger.

While I agree, it makes me sad to see Dan get beat up.

We’re forgetting something very important here…

Will these two games finally confirm that Heihachi and Dr Wily are the same person?

i was hugely impressed by how well kazuya translates into the sf engine. it exceeded my expectations. the only criticism i have of the game is that the vanilla character models are really starting to look dated, and this game doesn’t even drop till 2012. they were already starting to look old in ssf4. i really hope ono goes in the lab and gives characters like ryu, chun and guile a bit of a facelift.

i like that there are going to be two modes to pick from (versus and 2v2). i wish they had added a cvs2 mode to ssf4. i guess this is why they didn’t.

this is exactly what i was about to bring up. this game looks like it’s going to be pure rush. if the game that’s released in 2 years time plays anything like what we’ve just seen, most of the sf turtle characters are screwed. dhalsim doesn’t look like he’d stand a chance in this environment, so it’s going to be really interesting to see the characters roster. i’d say the same thing for guile too. but going by the trailer and evidence in pictures, it seems the game has rolls, wall juggles and parries. maybe this means there will also be charge partitioning, and if there is, this is how i expect the charge characters to survive.

i’m definitely hype. i’m not surprised by how much hate this is getting though. however, i’m pretty sure that the majority of the haters will be on board by the time the game drops.

I’m just glad I’m a fan of SF and Tekken, not just a SF whore. Hell, I’m a fan of all fighting games.

I will buy both versions and play both of them equally

This is crazy. I was never a fan of SF until Vanilla, and I was always a fan of Tekken till T6. This news can’t get any better for gamers like me. So many worries about Tekken fighters playing like SF. I truly feel sorry for anyone that would be disappointed in that. Capcom’s game should be Tekken from their perspective and vice versa. Those worried about how fireball characters will play in Namco’s game. Jin has a lazer beam. Jinpachi has a fireball that’s easy to spam, so I don’t think shotos will feel out of place at all. SF= -Noob/Mash friendly +Fast paced/~ Tekken = -Overly strategic +Rewarding learning curve. Take the two and switch them around = no brainer.

This. Actually I think what the coolest thing about this idea is that we’re going to see the companies basically reimagine the other side’s characters for their games. Almost entirely new interpretations of tekken / sf characters in the capcom / namco game respectively sounds pretty awesome.

This game better not have shortcuts, but it will!

Kazuya’s combos looked so similar to his Tekken combos. Hopefully, there will be a reason to use specific combos for different instances. I’d hate to see some of the flashy combos go to waste.

The game looks like SFIV with an adrenaline boost on crack. At least, I HOPE that’s what it’ll be like. Links that didn’t exist becoming chains, the gameplay video starting off with slide kick into wall bounce shoryuken, the Kazuya combos, the double team supers (which totally need to be cut down AND changed up for the SF cast)…it all looks amazing to me. I can’t wait to see Asuka Kazama in Street Fighter and Dudley in Tekken (assuming that those are possibilities).

I feel like this game has the potential to keep everything I like about SFIV and lose everything I dislike about SFIV. So far, I’m just going to wildly assume that the game will favor offense more than SFIV does, include stylish combos that are easy to pull off, and allow two character teams to negate the need for counterpicking!!!

Yeah Tekken’s tone and themes are totally different from SF… but that’s no different than Marvel and Tatsu and SNK and other crossovers.

before you go and label this game a super offensive rushdown game,
just make sure you realize that in that game play demo, neither player tried to block anything (probably on purpose)
so of course it seemed totally offensive. that doesnt mean thats going to be how people actually play this game though

its never going to be a good idea to open the round with a donkey kick and go balls out like they were doing in that demo.
this video is not indicative of what the game will actually end up playing like at all.

theres going to be plenty of down back in this game too, just watch

is this for real? looks like a vary sick joke lol

problem i fear tho is this might turn more into a tekken game with sf chrs rather than sf
