Street Fighter V's lack of content is appalling

they’ve already announced “challenges” and “Battle tips” which is their version of Missions and tutorial. the lack of in depth hitbox and framedata does suck but wouldn’t really help a new player thats like several steps removed from what they’re willing to learn.

Well, I’d prefer to have the game released earlier with less content, rather than later with more content. I mean, the content is coming for free, so all the better that they let us play earlier.

The only negative I see is for completely new people who buy the game early on and find it too barebones without realizing they’ll get more content for free later on. Capcom could see overall profit losses from this.

I don’t even get why it’s a “shitty practice”. The extra stuff is all coming for free.
They are very clear about what is coming, and when it’s coming. They aren’t tricking anyone.

If you think it’s barebones, you can just wait for that stuff to be released before buying. The exact equivalent of them releasing the game later.

If you’re a competitive gamer who has an interest in the CPT or just wants to play now, you can get it now…and STILL get all the extras later.

This harms NO ONE AT ALL.

Wait for a year where everyone will start praising how much content the game has, the delivery, the options to pay or not pay for the character content and how the netcode was good from DAY ONE.

Yeah I do at all the time. I live in SC but most of my family and friends are in VA. I use the party chat system to chat with friends while we play different games. It’s also a cool to watch movies with friends via the party chat system. It’s not the same as having people with you but it’s a good substitute.

Yea hang on a second, guy who created an account 6 days ago. If there’s no single player mode, where are people pulling ugly Bengus story mode art from? Is your problem that there isn’t a mode specifically named ‘Arcade’? Why would there be? There is no Arcade version. If you’re picking a character and playing through a single player mode that includes half arsed story slides with a bit of dialogue to pretend the game has lore to it, then that’s what a Street Fighter ‘Arcade Mode’ looks like.

In my day we got this

And we were fucking happy about it.

That’s funny. Because I don’t recall specifically saying you. I said people who saying this should be released at 30-40 bucks. I disagreed with your post because you stated “DevilJin solved this last page. Everyone should be getting this for like 30-40 bucks.” I completely disagree with that and anyone who feels similar. You may not have said it. But you share that mind set and agree with it.

idk i think people need to shut up and enjoy the game.

So much this

Plus lol at peoples happy to pay 60$ for “100” and that’s it, but feel butthurt getting at same price “50” at launch and 500 through years, most of wich FREE

Literally couldn’t care less about single player modes. I don’t ever play them.

So what you’re trying to say is that you wouldn’t want them to sell it for 30 to 40 bucks because you fear they would eventually force people to pay the extra 20 later?

Don’t get me wrong, I like a game with all of its’ features, but let’s be honest… was everyone begging for Trials and an Arcade Mode, or have we all been asking for an SF game that’s well designed and can run 1v1 matches well online? The latter is what we’ve wanted ever since it got announced, so if everything else isn’t there on release, sure that’s not a great thing, but it won’t destroy the game either.

When do we get a patch for close standing normals? that’s gonna be the best mode.

Comes in July after the faster walk speed patch.

This is a Capcom game, so people will never praise it out loud. But, they’ll definitely be thinking this.

Especially after GG Revelator Xth Accent Core and Kombat Pass 3 and 4 all release, and require you to pay 30, 40+ bucks.

Meh, could be worse.

Over 300 dollars on a 60 dollar purchase. If a 40 dollar one doesn’t give you that much enjoyment, don’t even bother spending the money. Given my use of the current version, if I give the new one half as much game time, its well worth the money. People spend 60 on games with 6-8 hours of gameplay, I don’t wanna hear SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT when it comes to updates.

As a hardcore casual player, I might be one of the few people that’s not unhappy that the release just feels like the bare bones. While part of me wishes that Character Story mode had a little more content, and that survival, challenge, and trial modes would be available, and wishing that there could’ve been an arcade mode, I’m just very happy that the game is gonna come out within a matter of days. I may be a hardcore casual player that may come time and time again for single player modes. But I, like everyone else on here, is a Street Fighter fan first and foremost.

The game does not feel unfinished. The fact that future free content is coming just gives me something to look forward to every month. With the cinematic story mode expansion coming in june, more stuff coming in march, and maybe expanded stories (and i’m hoping maybe a 2nd season of cinematic story expansion), there is just so much to look forward to that it would give casual players a reason to come back every month.

Yes, and your “Day 1” can be any day you choose.

Not liking a lack of certain content is completely justified, having the choice to not “eat a delay” for some things youre willing to wait for is also justified.

Well they gotta make up for the lower selling price some how. And people will lose it if Capcom did paid DLC, even if it would still equal 60 bucks for a full game
