Street Fighter V's lack of content is appalling

Oh noes, my fighting game comes with versus and training mode. What will I do with my time?

If you can’t figure that shit out, SRK is literally not the site for you.

How hard can it be to include a CPU vs mode, even a very basic one? Especially since the AI seemed to be pretty good in the beta, at least on par with previous games… I just don’t understand.

Why not keep your name as FireMadePrime? Haha or maybe you didn’t want that rep here…

Come Evo, all of this will be forgotten.

The only people who excel at Evo seem to use training mode and versus a lot.

Those two features are included.

There must be something to Capcom’s priorities.

Exactly im not sure why people are stunned that Capcom is selling to the competitive community as first priority. KI did the same thing.

There is a cpu option in vs mode just not in the other modes.

I have literally no clue what you are talking about?

I don’t miss it. I think the new story modes are way better at telling character stories than Arcade mode ever was. And if you don’t care about Story, then just playing Vs. CPU has always been the better mode to do that in.

There isn’t even an arcade mode? That seems a little strange. Has there ever been a fighting game released without an arcade mode?

I think MvC2 and Vanilla SF4. It got replaced with this thing you played to unlock characters.

Vanilla street fighter 4 had arcade mode on launch. I got that the day it came out and, unless my memory took a serious hit (which is possible I suppose), there was an arcade mode.

That’s the irony, they tried so hard to blowjob mainstream audience and they did a so basic error

Now every retard reviewer will feel the duty to say “as now, this game may not be for you”

That + forum dbags shitting on it because they are butthurt about contents or exclusiveness (i can visualize a fatty hugging his xbone crying over it “we will have our revenge”) or because they’re taliban fans of some other FG and they are just searching excuses to downplay the King’s return

Said that who cares

me having the game feb 16 + bad press >>> me getting it in march with casuals still crying and bitching because they will have to wait June (cinematic story mode) for “real” game

And even if was june they will bitch about 3 months before get the missing 3 dlc characters that they barely know

Then they will bitch when alt costumes will cost money and talk about cheap money sucker capcom i wait USSXSFV complete version for xboxone

You know what?
fuck mainstream shits and give me the damn game

I’m way more worried about the core/semi-core audience not understanding that give money (aka season pass) will support the game, and go full cheap desperate grinding FM to not give an extra cent, then whine if Capcom will be less willing to support the game with quality stuff in later years

Yeah this game is gonna take a serious hit from the rating websites. Not that I pay attention to those reviews, but a lot of people do at least partially base their decisions to buy games from the scores gamespot or IGN give. Look at master chief collection for example. Online for that game was horrible at launch and even though all the gameplay was stellar for single player, the fact that it was released as a “work in process” resulted in really low scores. The core audience who purchase fighting games won’t care, but the casual purchasers will be turned off from this.

But, this is why companies give exclusives for preorders I suppose. Most people already bought the game without knowing what they were going to receive lol.

What’s worse; releasing the 90% of the game and having free content come later or delaying the entire thing until March? Or would you rather them rush everything and it turns out to be garbage?

As I said before, Capcom failed their deadline, but so do many other companies in all aspects of business. It’s much better to do what they’re doing than the alternatives listed above.

I just don’t think that there is any excuse for charging $60 for a game lacking such things. You can make all the claims about having training mode and online you want, but it is just a red herring. The issue is that gaming companies are getting away with more and more bullshit and putting less and less content in their games, while trying to force you to buy their dlc (in Capcom’s defense, they didn’t do this). I hope this game now gets pounded by reviewers for this, I think we may find that demand for SF5 isn’t as inelastic as some of you may think.

I take it you don’t play Rock Band. RB4 is/was so bad I havent even turned it on in 3 months. I stare at the drums and just watch the buyers remorse bubble up.

I didn’t realize you could do this.

This is quite a helpful bit of info. Could we possibly have it be a sticky up top on release day until lobbies are patched in?

Yeah, and other games call that an “open beta” or “early access”. From a practical point of view of everything would be exactly the same. In that scenario, you still would have been able to buy the game for both PS4 and PC (albeit, probably digital only for PS4) so that people can prepare for tournaments and such. The only difference is that you wouldn’t have some guy on every gaming forum out there trying to convince everyone that the game is shit because it doesn’t have feature X at release. And you would avoid potentially bad reviews.

Then, once the game is feature complete, you bring it out of open beta and get good review scores, etc.

99.9% of the things I care about will be available on launch. Do you really care about the other stuff that much? Costumes? Arcade mode? Whatever irrelevant stuff the OP listed, etc.
