Listen I get why people are down on it being barebones, but it’s not like capcom didn’t flat out tell you when the features were coming in the future, you could have just waited if it was that big of an issue…
1 question if you work for someone and make half of the work do you expect your boss giving you a full pay ??? or you order a xl large pizza and the delivery bring you only the half and asking you full price and telling you the other half is coming soon . what you will say this is a bit the same capcom do
I think at this point it’s being magnified by the other problems the game is having. Modes were cut at release to get the competitive aspects of the game out, but day one of that is going poorly. Normally server issues get brushed off as par for the course because players will just play other aspects of the game, but there’s nothing else to do in this case.
The only thing I really don’t get is why there’s no traditional Player vs. CPU. Not only is that the most basic of features, but everything needed for it exists in the game already. How could Survival Mode,Training Mode and a barebones Story Mode make the cut but not that? I get that the store isn’t ready, and the big story mode takes time, and they’re still working on building spectator modes and bigger lobbies, but everything for a single match CPU mode exists within the game.
I dunno, I havent even gotten to play yet. Servers dead at midnight, and tried at 6:40a and kept timing out.
In all it’s still better than Diablo3’s launch because I could log in.
Rockband 4 still takes the cake. $200 or $250, I cant even remember I already put up blocks in my mind.
If I was told I would only get half beforehand and the other half was coming in the future and i still paid for it anyway because i felt it was worth it, it’s officially my problem.
This game is hilariously incomplete. I mean, I understand they need to get it out for the season to start, but to sell it for full price and expect people to hang on till March (at the earliest) for a decent, feature complete game is appalling. Call this release an open beta, and just let people play. It would have saved a ton of headache as they finish the rest of the game.
Cross Tekken all over again, boys. Hang on tight, the shelf life on this one is going to be short.
I think what Nick means is that majority of the people here, or at least those that play and compete, don’t really care for most of the things in the list.
I agree the game should have been good with this. Look at MK9 or MKX. Full of offline and even online content.
MK9 still the best selling FG game on PS3. Why isn’t it SF? Well this is partly the reason why.
I am competitive gamer but sometimes the casual need their share too. We need to support both our kinds.
The shelf life will be good since us competitive people will keep it up but still the content is lackluster compare to MK series.
But could improve with time though.
I like this game alot though as I don’t care too much about that stuff but ALOT of others do care.
I think the mechanics are fine, and has a good foundation for expansion. But in this day and age, you need to release feature complete games otherwise people will pass over it for some other triple A title that is coming out. You don’t get casuals into a game without shit like arcade mode and trials. For competitive types, online and versus is enough, but they even botched that up with non functional servers and 1v1 only lobbies.
I don’t get it, man. This game could have been really good if they had just learned from all the other companies that released fighters. Casuals want single player shit to do. The reviews will blast this game and so many casuals won’t even give it a second thought, which is too bad.
Hell, I want single player stuff to do, too. Brand new game, I want combo trials and challenges to get me into it. A full story mode would be great, too.
The fact that MK can just utterly dominate Capcom in the department of basic fighting game architecture is so baffling and embarrassing, people should be leaping from the Capcom building out of shear shame. There is no excuse for this level of absolute incompetence as it applies to delivering on a full-package experience that a wide variety of consumers will like.
Just copy MK, you idiots!
Will this game still sell? MAYBE…but guess what? This is it. This is going to absolutely burn to the ground any faith for a satisfying, value-enriched experience the general public may have had in the Street Fighter brand. I would have hoped after utterly abusing the good-faith they earned from SF4 with SFxTekken that MAYBE Capcom would have learned, but they’ve proven to be as bass-ackwards and stubborn as many of their other Japanese peers. Eastern design is fucking sunk with VERY few exceptions.
Well…MK may have had all the modes and whatnot…but it was even more fucking broken functionality-wise than this game. And they abandoned the PC version last month.
So uhh don’t copy them too hard. But I get what you’re saying.
