Seriously there’s no fucking way they left him out… from starting cast maybe, but from the game no way
Dude was able to appear TWICE (shitty Violent Ken made it and not real characters, fuck peoples) in one of last top ten most wanted polls
Since i main Ryu no problem with Ken have eventually having to wait first wave of dlc (but tbh will be wierd a SF without him), i just hope they don’t make him better as compensation
I really hope for Claw too unique and cool to get just replaced… also iirc Sagat already left and Boxed kinda betrayed (stealing the kid) too. Claw may be the last king still there
Sagat is cool, but eventually i will be fine with another new (and less “shoto”) Muay Thai dude. I just wish we have one.
Boxer i don’t know, while i tend to be a SF2 cast fan if only one can pass i save Dudley over him… i find him cooler design, and it will be a well spent slot for the % equal opportunity SF3 whiners cause
Also keep in mind that both Cammy and Juri (both very likely to be in imho) can fill that Bison entourage thing, with Cammy return work for him at the end of UFS4 and Juri being rival/porn asian secretary
Tbh as personal tastes i prefer SF keep the traditional badass route, as much i love japanese games Bison becoming Cammy is too much anime fighter for my tastes
Btw iirc at the end of USF4 is kinda hinted that Cammy will return work/whatever for Bison to save Decapre
It’s my understanding that Cammy was planned to be the next vessel for M Bison should his current body die, before she broke free of his mind control that is. So there is SOME precedence for it happening.
Of course this is all moot since it’s pretty obvious from that little snippet at the end of charlies trailer that M. Bison doesn’t have Cammy’s curves
O god. I just imagined if they did the opposite of the M Bison costume for cammy… a cammy costume for M. Bison XD
I don’t believe Cammy was ever intended to be a vessel for Bison. She was merely one of the first cloning experiments intended for the Doll project (not the host bodies project). There was a lot of mistranslation and conjecture surrounding the SFA3 endings IMO. For one, to be a vessel for Bison look at what Abel and his brothers have to go through. Not only must they be physically/genetically fit for Bison but they must also undergo extensive cybernetic enhancements just to withstand the self-destructive nature of Psycho Power. Even then, they will only be able to do so temporarily before it destroys them (which is why there are many of them). I doubt Cammy’s body would even be fit as a permanent home for Bison, no body is - besides his own (that takes time to clone perfectly) and of course Ryu’s which is implied to be even a better host body than his own original one.
A Rose possessed by Bison scenario (in Dictator garb) is far more likely than a Cammy one IMO, but ultimately if he gets his way we will be getting a Ryu in Dictator clothing. I remember there being a really good fan made concept art of this floating around some where.
Re: Cammy/Decapre, I don’t believe Cammy is back with Shadaloo. The bargain was to save Decapre’s life but giving her back to Bison (Decapre even tells her that it’s ok it ease Cammy’s conscious). You can see Cammy is alive and free after she leaves the base in SF4, she visits Juni in the hospital in her SSF4 ending.
Well what about Decapre? She’s using psycho power and she’s definitely Cammy’s body type, so I think she can fulfill Bison’s dream of becoming a woman.
I don’t think so. It will just open up game creation to a bunch of other people. They even have blueprints, apparently you don’t even need to know C++. (Don’t know if this is true, just my impression from reading stuff on their site).
Back on topic. What I say next may upset some people.
I mentioned before how clone characters are a waste, however I also think do everything characters are also a waste. Creating a diverse cast, means creating characters that excel at different things and are weak in different things. The do everythings in SF4 were Seth and Akuma and no surprise were a nightmare to balance. Let’s look at Akuma, since Seth is almost universally seen as a failure and is unlikely to be a playable character in SF5.
Akuma is essentially Ryu plus teleports, demon flips with all their variations, air fireballs, red fireballs, Raging demon, command dive kick. He is also always much faster walkspeed wise. So how is he balanced? He gets stunned and takes hits worse than anyone or almost anyone in the cast. They may change some frame data, more recovery on this, different hitbox for this, etc.
It just is a terrible way to design a character, creating a much better version of an existing character but having lower stamina/stun.
Seth was a wasted opportunity. He would’ve been infinitely more badass if he kept his clothes from the anime on. Having the top part tear off to reveal the Feng Shui engine mid fight. Then there was the fact that most of moves were just stolen, yes I know there was the BLECE engine but it was a cop out. He could’ve been far more original because his basic concept is actually good. I doubt we will ever see him again (he’s dead as of SF4), we’ll probably see the other Host Bodies though.
Akuma on the other hand has always been a shitty concept. Let’s take Ryu and Ken’s moves and tag them ALL onto an evil version of both them. Oh then give him a move where the screen goes white because we’re too lazy to draw up new animations for something creative. What’s worse, is we got a Shin version of him, then an Oni version of him, and a sidekick Evil Ryu just for shits and giggles. But no Capcom, don’t dare change a thing about him, lest you wish to piss off the myriad of Akuma “omg he’s so badass, MESSATSU!!!” fanboys.
Everything and clone characters may have been excusable at one point in time, but enough time has passed for Capcom to actually rectify the problem and further diversify these characters and make them stand on their own. What’s happening to Charlie is a step in the right direction, if Ken and Akuma ever make it in (and they probably will), they need to take a tip from Charlie.
Yeah the focus of Seth’s abilities should have been the tandom engine…pushing and pulling in opponents. That would have made him a much more interesting design, oh yeah and some clothes.
Akuma was a secret boss in ST. A head swap. However there were severe memory limitations on CPS2, Vampire Savior had to cut 3 characters (who had appeared in the previous game) cause of this. There is no excuse for clones in the present day other than laziness. Unfortunately Ken and Akuma have lots of fans despite being clones, so despite being bad for the game (Akuma being a double bad cause of his gameplay design) they will likely appear eventually.
