you made a horrible assumption there, buddy haha! I’ve been playing Street Fighter since Fighting Street. I’m well aware of the iteration tradition, and I don’t really mind it.
I’m talking about something brand new. Like selling characters piece by piece, a “Free to Play” model, or a “Play to Win” model. Will SFV be different…?
Respond back without being an asshole, if that’s possible.
It’s already balanced because you’re open as hell if you whiff a parry. You don’t need to lose a stock of meter or anything, and you’re gonna get punished if your opponent knows what they’re doing.
They kinda tested the pay to win thing with SFxT’s gem system, and it wasn’t recieved as well as it could’ve been.
Also, selling characters individually, while offering a bundle for all of them, is working just fine for Killer Instinct. Hell, KI also does free to play. Sure, there’s only one character, but there are plenty of folks who buy solely off of that demo since the free character changes like League of Legends.
For mechanics (because this is honestly all that matters for the competitiveness of the game).
TIGHTEN reversal windows
No parrying or a billion ultras that go through fireballs (Can we stop killing the zoners?)
Expanded throw range so people can actually play more footsies
@drwill439 yes I play Killer Instinct regularly. I don’t mind the business model for KI, I think it’s pretty cool to only buy the characters u care about & get monthly content.
But when KI was announced, there was some backlash in the FGC, so I’m curious if players that havent played KI will still feel the same way about it if SFV did similar…
Notice how this sounds extremely different from the comment you just posted. If you wanted to know how people would feel about a different business model, you don’t lead in with asking how Capcom is gonna ‘screw us.’
Back on track, though. If anything, Capcom has been consistent with the main Street Fighter games. As mentioned earlier, there’s usually a new iteration and a few revisions to that iteration. It’s been nothing but successful and I honestly don’t see them doing anything outside of that.
“Birdie” is a term used in the sport of “Golf”. “Golf” starts with a “G”. Extensive research shows that “g” is a character in the “alphabet”. Now this is the part where things get really confusing, so bear with me. In this “alphabet”, there is a character (or “letter”, if you will) “Q”. This character has a somewhat similar design to Q’s (a character from 3rd Strike) name. Probably BS (not even 100% that golf is a real thing), but I thought I’d share it anyways.
@drwill439 no need to get in your feelings, bruh… Geesh. LOL. Did I offend you?
Anyway…
Capcom has not been in many folks good graces with some of their decisions lately, so im expecting the good with the bad with SFV. There have been reports earlier this year about Capcom flirting with the idea of “free to play” & etc… I was asking would ppl be open to a new business model with SFV? and will Capcom learn from their missteps…?
Does anyone else get the feeling that capcom leaked this themselves in order to get some early feedback about the game? So if people saw it and went nuclear and were all “boycott crapcom!”, they could just pull an audible and pretend they weren’t going to run the teaser this weekend? I mean, I think it would be pretty smart.
Sure, that’s a good point. They haven’t revealed much, but I would think the art style, along with the return of ink effects, would be something significant for them to get a feeler out for.
Based on the fact that this trailer is meant to pull on community heartstrings rather than anything else, it’s obvious that this was meant for capcom cup, probably right before finals. When peoples’ moods are running high and hype is in the air, that trailer would have been really successful. The fact that it leaked on the net ahead of time by mistake is nothing but unfortunate – its impact is clearly diminished as a result.
If it was designed to “get early feedback” it certainly wouldn’t have been edited in this way. A standalone trailer meant for internet release would have had more action and had a completely different tone.
As you can see there has not only been a major graphical upgrade between iterations but a very different style as well. SF5…isn’t worthy of being called ‘5’ as it looks now.
