WAT!? LOL, NO. The only thing a see is a more ripped Ryu looking older and a skinny Chunli in darker background, this shit is disappointing. They should’ve overhaul the graphics stop being fucking lazy Capcom.
Hell no haha. The jump from SF2 to SF3 was considerably big. The level of animation, the Mode 7 zoom in, SF3 took a crap on SF2. SF3 would be impossible for SNES & Genesis at that time.
SF4 to SF5 (so far), is not that kind of jump graphically or with artstyle. What I notice is better particle effects & lighting, that’s about it. SF5 (based on the trailer) looks like it could be on PS3 if you scaled the textures & particles back.

This is the most disappointing jump to a number to date. one to two, two to three, and three to four. All made me want to try the game, add to the fact that its a PS4 and PC exclusive. Capcom is really trying to make me hang up the sticks.
This looks like sf4 with a graphical upgrade. Sofar not hyped at all. I really wish they would have went a different route art wise, or at least blow us away… When I saw MKX I was like man that game looks amazing, I’ll be giving that a try, and I really don’t like mk’s combat or controls.
If inexperience can be boiled down to a value, then yes. By looking at hit percentages, damage tallys, registered inputs per move per match you can then label a player as inexperienced, inadequate, etc (even for just instances) and then fire off the appropriate line of VO. “Looks like Player one is not connecting with “move x” and may want to try something else here.” “Every time Player One’s opponent does “x move” he connects, maybe Player One needs to learn how to block or avoid it.”
You can get really bogged down in the logic of it all and of course mileage will vary from instance to instance, but it’s all doable if you want to add that kind of non-forward facing production efforts. That is to say, if it seems to have any real value the idea is attainable.
I don’t get the complaints about the art style. I do see similarities with SF4’s art. But imo, as long as it’s a step up from that (and it most certainly is) that’s all I need. Love how more serious and determined Ryu’s face is. Chun-li finally put her fingers on a diet because they don’t look like sausages anymore (thank god!). And her face is more easier on the eyes to look at. I’m loving this serious tone they’re going for. I hope they keep it up. However, I do NOT like that the ink effect is back. Hopefully, this is just a temporary addition until they maybe think of something better to add in its place? I don’t know but all I know is that it needs to go.
Am I the only one that thinks they look older as well? When I first saw this, I immediately thought that it was gonna be after SF3. If this is true, I hope some characters get an update to their design to match this. Sakura better not be 25 yr old and still wearing a high school outfit. Seriously?
Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the roster and mechanics though. hopes and prays for Karin…
Shit time to buy a new stick on PS4…sucks for XB1 only owners. I’d be surprised if any of the inevitable iterations after Vanilla SF5 are exclusive as well. Sony must of put up lots of cash to fund the exclusivity.
Also I wonder what the unique fight system mechanic is going to be this time around. Still see the brush strokes but on his Tatsu this time around. Interesting!
