As I mentioned, the problems with fireballs in SF3 was how the characters were designed. Parry does NOT make them useless.
A game can totally have parry and zoning as well.
+The character models look good
+Animations look pretty solid
-Textures need more work
-I hope they add a ton of secondary animation on the fabric (SF3 style)
I agree, It shouldn’t give you a short. if you press down and cr.LK+cr.LP you should get a throw attempt. Fuck that cr.LP/cr.LK nonsense from throws, the game shouldn’t be playing for you.
Seemingly a low priority thing, but I’d love for the announcer to be more dynamic and varied. Kind of calling the match a bit like how matches are commentated now. This would help those starting out get used to some of the terminology and nuances in real-time. It’d be a huge undertaking to get it right, but the technology exists. I know, I’m a game audio engineerere and the middleware is capable. You want to grow your playerbase you need to get new players so “some” kind of presence that gives you an inkling of how you are doing might go a long way.
Not sure how i feel about parry, but I do know the majority of people who are a fan of it just saw Daigo do it and think it looks cool and don’t actually understand SF3 system mechanics in the least.
Now comes the ‘who is going to make it in?’ discussion. I wonder if Capcom will be able to reuse/update old character assets ala Tekken to create a huge roster or are they going to go with the core original 16 plus new characters?
A little too dark & saturated in that trailer, but it could be to just set the mood for that particular arena stage.
looks a bit too much like SF4 art style wise, but an improvement. No bulky Ryu or cartoon faces is a good sign.
I HOPE TO GOD that this game takes place after SF3.
I hope there’s no Focus Attacks.
I’m fine with Parries, and I hope the trailer is a clue that they’ll make a return. If not, and a new mechanic is made then I’m open to it.
As a XBoxOne owner, it’s unfortunate that this will be a PS4 exclusive. But I planned on getting a PS4 next year anyway, so I hope there’s a SFV Holiday Bundle lol.
I’m Hype! Killer Instinct, Guilty Gear, & MKX will feed my appetite until this drops.
The graphical difference between SF4 and SF5 is equivalent to the jump that happened between SF2 and SF3 but in 3D. Quit your complaining. The art style is definitely more serious in tone and this is what we all wanted I believe. It looks on track to being gorgeous.
I can’t wait for Super Street Fighter & Knuckles 5 Ultra Deluxe Turbo Hyper Remix: Remastered Championship Anniversary Edition HD (Featuring Dante From The Devil May Cry Series)
Well, the game currently looks less bad than four, as if that’s saying much. I’ve lost any expectations of Capcom being able to make good games at all or even release them in some cases coughmegamancough, so I have no hype until the community gets it’s hands on it.
Can technology separate getting DP’d due to inexperience with characters with DP reversals from getting DP’d from inadequate conditioning before doing DP punishable oki? I’d like to know what to google if so.
