Some infos to be said being reliable… even by NeoGAF
Random informations, not sure if old or not :
Unreal Engine 4
Stage won’t be static. They will load with random time of day and weather. Not entirely random though, not all stages will have all ToD nor weather conditions. Won’t affect gameply, just to make stage look more evolutive and less static. Destructible stages.
New system called V Trigger, not sure yet how much it will cost, if you can super or whatever, but will allow new stance, more offensive, ex attacks. Seems to double the hit on attacks. Really not sure about that though. Also, in trailer, Ryu does V Trigger combo and guard crush Chunli. Not sure if definitive.
Capcom seems to really not like the dozen of release of the game (AE, Super, Ultra) they want a single strong brand name and update it from here
They will work on a solo mod. They acknowledge SF4 was totally lacking here.
Of course cast will be reduced but should have new comers at launch. Don’t be surprise to see new characters from north africa, south america or south east asia, as capcom is targeting these new markets
I kinda feel like Sean would be the only acceptable “clone”. Mostly because he is really only a shoto based on looks and sorta DP, everything else about him is pretty unique. Doubt he will make it in anyway though.
V-trigger sounds believable with this being SFV and all.
This is the second time I’ve heard there only being 16 characters. It wouldn’t surprise me if Ryu and Chun are the only WW from the original 8 to be in it before all the DLC hits.
Also, we have no idea when they started working on SFV. When did that PS4 commercial with Ryu in the cab air? I’m sure they already had made a deal to have SF5 be exclusive for the PS4 at that time.
Where is the Unreal Engine 4 info coming from? There was no Unreal logo on the trailer and Capcom has it’s own in-house engine for next gen development.
Speaking of single player, I hope a dev knows all about vf4:evo’s kumite mode, the greatest single player mode there ever was in a fighting game. Accordingly I hope hope they ipgrade the ai to mimic humans like sega did 15 years ago
For those who don’t want a bunch of shoto-clones, I find it doubtful they would exclude Ken from the roster of a game in the main SF series and if it turns out to be true that the starting lineup will be 16 characters, then that only leaves 13 (I’m not necessarily saying Ken is a shoe-in, but I’m strongly leaning toward that).
Edit: Btw @TheDarkPhoenix, that article is from 2013. It’s a possibility the deadline may be bumped to something earlier as they seem to at least have a playable build already for capcom cup.
