Street Fighter V: Beta Version unofficial Feedback & report thread

It seems awfully random to me. If they were catering, I think more prominent members of the FGC that had streams going like Max Valle etc would suspiciously have had better luck getting games in. I’ve played 5 matches total, but I only got past the title screen 3 times last night. The rest of the 7 hours, I was just pressing X like everyone else. And like you said, to wake up and find people claiming to be playing 5 of those 7 hours? Yeah I’m a little hot about that. For the record, I’m in Sacramento. But foreign players were still getting in a NA exclusive run supposedly. So I dunno. The whole setup is suspect. As long as it pays off for us in the long run though it’s fine. We’ll see how it goes in 3 hours here.

The day we can all come here and say we actually were able to get into a actual match, is the day the beta starts. Europe and Asia included. That has yet to happen

It’s more that they’re intentionally limiting the number of people whom can get in than any sort of bias. Most of the errors people see are probably caused by this. That’s probably a set of error codes that they’re expecting, since that just means “hold up, we ain’t letting you in”. Anything outside of that is probably what they’re looking out for.

It probably doesnt help when people from outside the servers try to get in though. Probably causes more stress then what capcom is expecting.

Right, but how is it determined who gets in and when? And why when I do get in and am playing do I suddenly get kicked out, whereas others don’t? Those are the things I wonder and would like to know. There’s no consistency among people’s experiences. Some never get in. Some can’t stay in. Personally I thought it would be bad at launch, but a different kind of bad. I was thinking like trouble finding opponents, dropped connections, rollback glitches, random closing of the app. And of course an overload for the first couple hours. I NEVER thought it would be that I couldn’t get past the title screen (or even see it) for 12+ hours. I’m not complaining, I’m just surprised at all of this. Not exactly pleased either, but Capcom has been handling it well and in a timely manner. I’m just curious about the details from their end.

So…did anybody get on in the end?

Yup… one thing i did notice was that all the exp and fight money i acquired in my first 3 hour run was wiped away when i got disconnected for about 30 minutes. Had to earn it all back

I would guess that it doesn’t pick who gets in at all. It probably works just like a website that’s overloaded does. When a spot opens, it allows the first user attempting to take that spot to get in. So, just keep hitting “yes” and let it try again. Assuming the beta is running this morning. If you’re having trouble staying in, I’d make sure your connection is all in order. Most likely it’s the beta, but it could be your connection, also.

For what it’s worth, I haven’t been able to play at all. Been a little busy and when I did have time to try I never got in. Hopefully it’ll work soon.

And to all you entitled people thinking this should work like you bought the game. Don’t be stupid. It’s a beta test. I’ve got to assume you’ve never tested a game before. There are no guarantees. The game will be fucked up. It’s just how it goes. They’re asking for your help to finish it. Not offering you a product. You get your product in the Spring. So, help them out or don’t…but stop crying. You’re not entitled to anything for a $5 preorder.

Nobody has to answer my rhetorical questions, especially if they don’t have answers worth reading.

My friend who lives down the street got so pissed not being able to log in for the last 2 days deleted the beta client download file and now he’s trying to get it back from the library tab, i 've been telling him to just be patient until capcom fixed the problem but I guess he reached his breaking point…lol

yea, delete those files, that’ll show them

If you delete it you can’t redownload it?

lmao. A question isn’t rhetorical if you want the answer. The definition is that you do not want an answer, but you specifically said, “These are the things I wonder about and would like an answer to.” Don’t try and call me out when you don’t even know what you’re saying.

How’d your mom raise such an illiterate child? That’s an example of a rhetorical question. I really don’t want or care for the answer. Enjoy your salt at not getting to play the beta.

I deleted and reinstalled the client last night. Worked fine then.

I said I’d like to know, not that I was looking for answers from people with no frame of reference.

I’ve played many games in their alpha and beta stages. And umm, nothing is guaranteed you say? The last time i checked this is one of Capcom’s major IPs, and a console exclusive on the number one console at the moment. So treating this like some little indie title isn’t going to fly. The gaming media will and should come down hard on Capcom if they don’t get this fixed. They have been pushing this beta since the first trailer was revealed months ago.

Your treating this beta as if it was the full game launch. A beta is not that serious.

Can’t help but feel like there’s going to be a few layoffs over at capcom.

Then learn how to write that, and don’t get shitty with people that answer your questions. You also have no idea who I am or what my frame of reference is.

No one said it’s an indie game. I said it’s a beta test. So, no, you’re not guaranteed to get to play the game for 5 days all day and night. THIS IS ONLY A TEST. If it was some kind of demo, your point may be valid. Beta tests are different.

I saw a few posts on twitter that some people did delete their file and reinstall it and was able to get on and play, i told my buddy about that and he tried it and he said when he tried to reinstall the client from the library tab all he sees is the tab but no download button to click.
