Street Fighter V: Beta Version unofficial Feedback & report thread

Erm. I’m still in lol.

Shh.

just got kicked. i dont like the rollback its confusing and still destroys momentum. reminds me of sfxt. everything else is amazing

Just got kicked out the same as everyone else. Off to bed now, hopefully everyone gets a chance later on.

After trying to get in for 5 hours I finally got in. I got to play Nash/Ryu for about 2 hours. First time with Nash, I was only in training mode. I wasn’t being paired up with anyone. For the last hour I played a bunch of Ryu vs. opponents. The lag felt really good. I was able to hit my combos just like offline. I was doing the j.hp > s.mp > s.mp > s.hp > s.hk combo every time. It felt like I could AA DP at the correct time too. It wasn’t like SF4 where you had to hit your AA’s early. When I had lag though, it kinda sucked. Characters would be warping all over the place. I think I had about 4 really laggy matches in an hour.

I’m excited for the online play!

PS. the plinking input is in the game YAY!

I got in for 2 minutes training mode as Bison about 11 PM PST, then about an hour later my friends and I managed maybe 2 hours without disconnecting. Wasn’t til about 3 AM that we got disconnected and decided to call it quits.

I tried only Charlie and Bison. I was the first on once the connection stabilized but wasn’t unsure of the stability so I went with the last character we hadn’t tried yet being Charlie.

Characters aside, the game feels great. Utilizing v-skills and v-trigger was messing me up a little bit though since I was mixing up the buttons to use v-skill and v-trigger and didn’t have a lot of time in training mode before getting a challenger to really get comfortable.

Combos were pretty straight forward even though I haven’t really watched any combo videos. SF4 is a natural transition into SF5.

My main gripe was connection stability with other players. My friend was up against a UK Ryu at one point and the rollback was about as bad as one could hope. The bad connections overall seemed to alternate between nasty frame-dropping rollback and true input delaying lag, or some staggered movement. Either making the netcode better or make matchmaking better should be Capcom’s #1 priority because it was honestly unplayable when you can’t react to what another player is doing, or even decide to “block safely” for a moment.

I like that throws seem strong but not abusable. I didn’t even check on crouch tech resulting in stand throw. I just went ham at the chance to finally get some time with the beta. I feel like that was the best way to spend the time. Just figure out characters BnBs, link sequences and shenanigans if necessary.

i’ve spent about 30 minutes in trainingmode and that’s it.

the game feels really really good. safe to say that i’m pleased with what i’ve seen so far.

Are you playing from the EU client or does that not make a difference?

So has anyone recorded some matches? I’d love to see some matches!

My friends have some recorded to their phones. I’ll let you know when those become available on youtube.

God damn, everyone got to try the game out at least for a bit. I’ve yet to see anything but the title screen. The servers are down again I take it?

Nvm, going up again at 11 pdt. That’s 2 pm here…not too bad. Hopefully i’ll at least get an hour of training mode.

Well at least there’s no more “hit this button within 1/60th of a second or get rekt” bullshit

Good morning, I knocked the hell it, glad some of you guys got to play.

Yes. EU client. Heard some players from Brazil got in as well.

I didn’t get in at all last night. I’m sure I attempted for like 5 hours (was watching a stream while pressing X basically) until I couldn’t stay awake anymore.

Didn’t fall for their bullshit this time, I tried for like 10 minutes and then gave up and went to sleep. I’ll see how it goes today, hopefully I can get at least some training time.

I enjoyed the 5 hours i played last night. In it’s current state this netcode is pretty strong, got to play someone from France snd the UK, it was smooth… the combo system does feel very fluid compared to 4,maybe i didn’t play enough sf4 but when i did stuff feels very clunky. Nash is hella fun, buttons feel really good. Just loving the experience so far.

Hopefully they didn’t count last night as one of the beta days, because i didn’t get to play a single match. Woke up this morning to find out some people were able to stay in for 5 hours? Wtf.

It seems they’re catering to the west coast userbase at this point.

I’m hoping for the same. If last night counted as a funtional beta day then that’s utter bullshit. I tried getting in for about 30 minutes and then went to sleep. The beta is for the world, not the east west coast.
