Street Fighter V: Beta Version unofficial Feedback & report thread

Make it a free open beta then. This whole thing was for stress testing AND letting fans of the series get a early taste of the game, they seem to have failed on both. So im not sure where this defense force is coming from.

But you need the A(don)lpha

I’m not too upset since I’ve already gotten to play it at SDCC, but I was hoping to get a feel for the game using a controller since they had everyone fight with the Arcade sticks there. Plus being able to actually sit down and figure out all of the new features would’ve been nice.

Is this a joke post? The entitlement and ignorance is just too strong.

If i recall correctly, SDCC had one station all the way on the left that had controllers setup. Did you get a chance to try it there?

If they did that then no one would ever get to play during any beta schedules.

At least those who got in are reporting that the netcode itself was good.

I guarantee you a patch is coming. Somebody eff’d up somewhere.

If only they would just let us do some offline training… that’s all I’m asking for

When I was in I didn’t get to play a match unfortunately but I can confirm that the training music is dope. It’s no longer soul destroying after 5 minutes.

Honestly, I can see why offline training is a lot to ask for but fuck, even as a person who wants to play Chun Li, I’d settle for just playing against CPU opponents with Ryu right now. Take me back to the original Street Fighter while letting me learn the new mechanics

It sounds kinda like a remixed SFxT theme, HEAVILY remixed I might add

Offline training will probably come at a later date. Just go grind some USF4 until then

The reason a lot are pissed are because of:

1: they gave like 3 different ETA’s for when the problems would be fixed, none of them were actually met, and it ended up in the canceling and rescheduling of the beta, after many people were up for hours trying to play to no avail.

2: The purpose of the beta was to test the netcode, not the servers. The overwhelming majority couldn’t even make it past the title screen, which made their #1 priority essentially pointless. It would be like if I invited x number of people to try out my new restaurant (that they payed in advance to get into), only for them to find out that the doors are broken and you can’t even get in to taste the food.

Most of the people on SRK were prepared for this, so it doesn’t bother then to an extreme extent. The thing is, some people were really looking forward to this and even blew off certain commitments to play. I was smart enough not to do this, but I completely understand where the anger is coming from.

The entire online framework for the game is busted. The few that actually managed to get in were eventually kicked. I don’t think their priority became pointless as they know now whatever they had in place wasn’t good.

This post should be a sticky thread. I’ve been trying to say this to a bunch of people too. The netcode testing has been negligible so far, nobody is getting anything off of this on either side.

I think everyone is missing the big picture here. This IS the game. You gotta beat the Capcom logo, the Rating, and the final boss is the SFV title. You get passed that and you win. THIS IS THE NEW AGE OF STREET FIGHTER!!!

They gave estimate times, not precise absolute times on when the servers would go back up.

Yeah this is a beta to test the netcode, and logging onto their stuff is part of it. It does not have to mean it is the portion of match making. Clearly there’s active connections coming about since there were a lot of slow downs during the fight request training mode.

I’m just as sad as you are, but going through enough betas in the past two decades, it’s better to just let them do their thing and wait.

For those saying that the β was something CAPCOM shouldn’t be blamed for is forgetting a tiny little something.

The β was tied to a pre-order campaign. If it wasn’t, I’d have (along with others) no problem with this.

“Fortunate” for those who didn’t pre-order like myself, the only letdown for us was to not get to watch others play - and a majestic slap in the face to those who took time off from work and who spent hours playing the “Press Any Button” game for hours upon hours, for nothing.

This is a fiasco, and not only for CAPCOM…

I hope people stop pre-ordering overall.

Again offline training mode / matches would have fixed this. I get maybe not offline vs matches because they don’t want someone having a playable non-final copy months in advance but I don’t see having a beta training mode if they had unlocked it being a massive advantage on day 1 or even bad for capcom. In fact if the netcode / matchmaking was shit this should have been where your players sat while waiting. Not getting kicked out.

Eh if they reschedule awesome, but in the modern age of gaming working yourself up for day 1 or prerelease is just filled with to many problems and the fact this has become industry standard is disappointing. I get testing your content is important, but your user base is doing YOU a favor by testing your game for free or by committing to give you money in the future. Treat them with the respect someone buying your game and keeping your light on deserve. I honestly think capcom isn’t happy with the situation, but in the future I’d like more companies assuming their beta is going to be fucked and planning it so the end user isn’t completely screwed if it is. Even if your worried about the netcode people might find level glitches or something if you let them mess around in 1 level offline. My 2 cents.
