Street Fighter V: Beta Version unofficial Feedback & report thread

Well… no more updates :frowning:

So here is video that shows off some of the menu for people who couldn’t see it and I just wanted to note a few things off of it

Under Fighter Profile, we can call it like a Fight Card that tracks your stats. Interesting look to it:
It’ll feature a main character portrait (Mine was Ryu by default, this guy had a question mark)
Top left there is a “V” and —, not sure what that means
Under that is your Title and Icon, but also a PS logo. Obviously this will tell people if you are on PC or PS4.
Exp (Player Points or something new?), Time zone and Last online pretty self-explanatory
"LV —" Level/Rank indicator for your main character?

This part I already mentioned in General but no one really talked about it. I find it interesting and gives clues to online play. Even known I’m not sure what it all means - Power, Discipline and Respect Grid. Each with their own tabs available as well, which were locked out during beta.
What could these mean?

Last tab is a Battle Log/activity, I can see this replacing your battle channel and used for replays etc.,

What do you all think of the menu? I know it is beta, but I feel it is kinda blah. I’m sure it is all placeholders but USF4 had a pretty good menu system
This is a bit flat for now.

Towards the end you can see the fight screen with similar features of the Fighter Profile
Again we have Title/Icon and here a V with a 10 on it (I don’t think that is fight money so I’m curious what it means)
Total Experience and Character specific Experience
(LV.001) no more letter grading? 3SOE had a numerical level and so does Killer Instinct. Will there be a level cap with a character? How hard or how long does it take? Do you lose levels? etc., etc., we don’t know obviously just thinking as I type.

The last thing under the P,D,R Grid is a balance scale with 11 slots. This is player specific not pertaining to Chun Li.
Left side features a Fist and the Right side I can’t quit make out
I’m curious what this really means and how it works for gameplay or is just gimmicky?

Here is the video:

Have to agree with Sephiroth entirely, we could have essentially been a giant QA team for them, see if any animation/move properties/general glitches could occur under set circumstances. But instead we’re all left hanging on a black screen instead, offline training at the least would have been great, I don’t think any players would have sat in training for longer than the first day tops, considering anything learnt will have to be relearnt with the final iteration of the characters anyway.

I just hope they don’t keep us in the dark for too long as far dates are concerned. I’m not really big into the inner workings of this whole process but 99% of people getting stuck on the title screen has to be pretty bad, right? Like not just something that a day of maintenance could take care of?

It is a driveclub situation, basically the entire framework for the online component was implemented incorrectly. Something this drastic can take anywhere from weeks to months to correct. I know it took the guys who made DC like a whole year, but I think that’s mostly because they suck at their job. My ETA for the new beta is 2wks-month.

Hell if you are going to take a month somehow get me Ken and possibly Necalli. No way if you can push Birdie / Cammy out you can’t push out another character unless capcom programmers are literally incompetent.

Man can’t I just hope for something this week…I really don’t want to be waiting weeks just to get going again, after it gave me such a short taste of it

Capcom did say they don’t want us fighting the game. So not being able to beat the title screen makes sense.

I think Capcom just misunderstood us. We wanted rollback net-code, not rollback title screen.

Didn’t think if was going to be this bad. Wow. Hopefully we can get an ETA later today. But even then, I’ll be really skeptic.

well the good thing is at least they are noticing this now. That and im sure the servers where bombarded specially a week after evo where sf4 had over 200000 people watching and i think sf4 online may have 2000 people online tops lol. The way sf’s community works is so broken lol mainly offline warriors which is all good im one too some online vikings amd then the oh i love sf but dont play because i suck and dont wana take the time to get good. The last type of player is the one that i think would throw capcom for a loop sf5 beta all the “sf is too hard but i love it but dont play it” crowd come out. Either way i was semi expecting this. Im also glad they forced online play since thats what they want to make sure is good when the game comes out. They dont care for the players to learn the mechanics or the combos or break the game because even if we do and they fix it we will just break it more its unavoidable.

So is it confirmed that they are shutting down the beta? Or are they just gonna extend the intended time that it was supposed to be up to make up for lost time? Id like to at least try it and press some buttons.

If that was the case, wouldn’t Capcom have been aware of it and just told everyone at the time it was cancelled instead of continually saying they were were working on it? Saying they were working on it gives the impression they thought it could be fixed.

And by now it really would just be a case of Capcom having to tell us the beta is cancelled.

Maybe they got hacked?

Unlikely they were hacked, if I could re-enact the scene it would be something like

A pack consisting of tens of thousands of hungry wolves sees group of small malnourished children.

The malnourished children are the beta servers. But considering the “Literally nobody can access the beta now” problem has started AFTER the servers were overloaded, I assume in their haste to get the servers working again that they botched something and for lack of a technical term - broke it.

I don’t know the specifics, but I’m assuming they thought it could’ve been fixed because they did not yet know how bad the problem was, as they had not yet released it to the public. It is obvious the problem is a lot more complicated than a simple server overload, or something comparably small. I would say an estimated 95% of the players were unable to even get passed the title screen, in some instances it took roughly 5 minutes to even get to the title screen, before ultimately failing and going into what seemed like an endless loop of disconnections. This is further evidenced by the fact that they aren’t even confident in fixing it within the originally planned beta period, as they have put it on a sort of indefinite hiatus and aren’t willing to give even a rough estimate on when the new dates will be.

All of those things suggest that the problem lies deep within the infrastructure of their online component, so I wouldn’t get my hopes up for this to just be a week long affair. Of course, I may be wrong and it can be back up as early as tomorrow, but I’m just making an educated guess based on the circumstances and their reluctance to give any solid details about the situation.

Can people actually get into matches or is it perpetual training?

The beta is down completely

Haven’t seen this mentioned yet, so, did anyone else keep getting kicked out into dashboard? Tried restarting the PS4 several times and it kept happening. Gave up after that.

Me and someone else got booted to the Dynamic Menu/XMB/whatever once out of the countless tries but it also booted up the YouTube app for some reason on both our consoles. Tho I can’t say if its bc I had YT running in the background.

If you want to share the feels, made a little summary of today:
