Street Fighter in Beijing?

It’s cool bro. I’ll ship my number over to these crazies you speak of.

Next time I make it out to Beijing I’ll let you know.

I know this is the Beijing thread, but can any of you guys tell me where the good FG arcades are in Changsha 长沙 and Wuhan 武汉. I will be going to Changsha on the 8th of August and will be there for about a month before I move to Wuhan until next June for school. I mainly play marvel…which is a no go in China as far as I can tell, but I will play any FG to be honest, I’ve played/practiced them all so its no big deal of what the game is, just trying to find something I can drag my gf to and make her bored XD

i was searching on 17utt for arcades, but…it was no help in the end

changsha is a dump. you might not find anything there.

wuhan definitely has many many arcades. ill get specifics from a friend of mine and repost here.

So I think best place to meet Friday is Dongzhimen, since I have to double back to the airport due to my early departure time.

95% sure I’ll get over there, not sure what time, but I’ll let you know.

Anything special regarding directions from the subway I need to know?

Its pretty much straight ahead from exit C. Go out of the exit, walk about 100 ft cross the street and there’ll be a mall entrance. Go down the stairs and you’ll hit a convenience store right next to the cade. Should take ~2 minutes, so if you find yourself wandering you might have gone too far. 欢乐海洋

wait what was I doing? oh, I can probably get there about 7 7:30 - if you find any problems feel free to gimmie a ring.

lol my gf is in changsha so i’m only going there for her…from what i heard wuhan isn’t that great either, but its just bigger, i know there are alot of arcades in wuhan, just don’t know where to look if it helps i will be at 华中师范大学 for school in wuhan. I’m not to worried about finding any for changsha since i won’t be there that long

Looks like there’s a pretty decent scene - This is for tekken, but I figure there must be some SF hidden away.

Tekken is fine, I’m from the ATL we play a good bit of Tekken here (by a good bit i mean we win like everything lol)…Recently i’ve played it more than SF so its definitely fine by me lol

Edit: forgot to say thanks : )

Just dropping by for anyone who doesn’t know, i just got a original CD key for ssf4 from taobao for less than 20 rmb (3-4 dollars i believe) and was very suprised by the very BIG pool of players on PC all from China (can easily find a game in less than 30 secs even past 1am). You will need to download the game via torrents (quite fast) but the CD key they give you is genuine. I was well suprised since i used to play on xbox, where player pool and connection is not even comparable.

thanks again for the Tekken link. I’ve already found out all the best arcades in the city and which ones are close to where I will be staying. I’m sad the only arcade with TTT2 is so damn far though. I also introduced a few of them to UMvC3 none had even heard of it…but wanted to play it after watching the evo video I showed them. I might drag along a ps3 copy see if i can get a scene going for that XD

We’re back in Beijing and alive, though I barely made it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Did the floods affect you guys much?

I’ve been in Changsha for a few days now. I’m thinking of trying to find an arcade this Saturday. Since its my birthday. I just wish my Chinese was better. I mainly have been relying on my girlfriend for everything so far.

Hey, sorry I went AFK for so long, but I’ve been sorting myself out in Qingdao. I’m now living in the downtown area so if you wanted to go to that arcade sometime then that might be fun. I’ve brought my xbox over and my copy of SSF4AE, but I’ve only got one arcade stick and I don’t have a tv to play it on yet (it’s on the list).

I’ll have to check on the arcade. Last time I went, it was closed. But it may be because I went on a normal work day in China, and I went in the early afternoon.

If I can fix my stick, when you get a TV, maybe we can just meet up at your place. I live in Chengyang district, and it’s around a hour or more to get to various parts of downtown by bus. But we’ll see what we can do for a meetup.

If you let me know what bus stop is closest to you (in Pinyin as well as the Chinese characters), I can figure out the bus route and how long it’d take me to get to and from.

It looks like some of us Beijingers might be heading up to Qingdao for golden week. Will you guys be around?

I’ll be in town for sure. Whether I will be off my leash that I can go do something remains to be seen, but if at all possible, let’s do something.

Hey,currently in Beijing on holiday until the 3rd of September. Can someone give me a rundown of places where I can face some competition? Already been to an arcade in Wang Jing but there doesnt seem to be anyone playing sf seriously lol. Cheers.

Most of the arcades are listed in the first post. Only one I would add is Dongzhimen (IMO best comp) which I posted about a few posts up.

Haha cheers, is there any specific time range I should go at?
