well i play casual 100 match and loose 90 of the time in my place but never whine about it cause i know im just trolling and counterpicking, but in the otherhand in arcade i cant even to manage a super ,bison crouch LK cant be comboed ,alot of other stuff that just dont work for me.but the fact that taito type x2 is a pc make understand the slowness of AE in arcade.
13 of course. As it turns out I have a moment today so if someone wants to check it out by all means.
I don’t really have a problem at the arcade, but as Aki said it can take a few matches to adjust to the surroundings. This is more a problem in Xidan due to the relatively long wait between matches and the overall better players making sure you’re cycling out. I think it was Buktooth who said that blaming execution is missing the point which I rather agree with.
Get a stick afterwards?
Also I’m good for whenever and want to try the game. From when to when are you free?
@Isoulle and Raas: If Rod’s ok with around 6:30 I can head towards my home real quick, grab a stick and then bike towards his place. Just wondering if it’s ok for me to bring the bike upstairs as I don’t want to leave it outside for obvious reasons. It can be folded. As for how long, I don’t think for too much because it’s kinda last minute. But I can leave the stick there and you guys can give it back over the weekend.
The fact that you will get cycled out should, in theory, act as an incentive to play better. It’s the advantage that arcades have by giving you a reason to be in a more competitive spirit than in casuals. The reality of China is that the arcades here are not that great and have very few cabinets to go around with. In the SF4 Vanilla days, Shuangjing was better because they had 3 setups and you were able to at least try to runback a loss once without being bumped off. Now you lose once and it’s to the back of the line with your ass. The worst part of it is that it’s not much of a line either since at anytime someone might cut in front of you. I just remembered a personal experience of mine regarding the whole equipment topic (then I’m done for good this time, don’t hit me!). Story time, you little whipper-snappers! I used to work in an internet cafe back when CounterStrike was quite big. We managed to score a deal with the ESL e-sports league and we were gonna host a major tourney in CS. The top two teams in my country were gonna compete and we had a huge gathering of people too. One of the pro teams was seeded against a pretty strong team in the first round so they had to play well. Now, the cafe was quite the fail cause half our machines were running CS at low frame rates. The organizers had the pros sit on 5 bad machines but they still won the match despite the low frame rates and some other mishaps here and there. One of their machines actually started severely lagging every now and then too. The point of grandpa Aki’s story is that part of playing a game, may it be for fun or competition, is to be able to adapt to the best and worst situations. I might be going a little too deep for my own good with this, but I found a reason to get back into fighting games after meeting you guys and getting into the arcade scene here. Equipment be damned.
Yeah 6:30 is fine for me, lets run it back!
Cool, I’ll show up around then.
I’ll try and be there as fast as I can. Good news is I’ll have a good chunk of time to spend since Kimy’s gonna be out of her office a bit later today.
KOF XIII as expected from SNK :1.34 GB.
I understand you’re just salty right now, but you’re really mistaken about the lag situation.
-
Most good players hit one-framers in the arcade fine. Before you moved here most of the Akumas had the loop down consistent as hell.
-
The response time listed in the stats of the monitor have nothing at all do to with input lag. Nothing. A 2ms monitor can lag more than a 5ms monitor. Even if those stats did have something to do with input lag, 5ms is a little more than a third of a frame of lag, which is actually better than anything used in any arcade or home system anyway.
Response time relates to color processing. Lower times result in less ghosting. 5ms is fine for gaming.
-
My monitor used at home is actually a 24incher, not 32 or 42. It has one frame of lag at max. It’s tournament worthy.
-
Yes, there is a difference between timing on the PS3 and arcade. The PS3 has an inherent 2 frames of lag on anything that goes through the USB port. Your experience at home is actually laggier than the arcade, even if you’re playing on CRT TV.
But regardless, I’m finished with my last test tomorrow morning. I’m sorry I missed out on SBO, lets get some games on soon.
Rod, check your PM’s (In a minute or two, gotta type the message).
As for you Jason, if you’re ever up for games, give me a shout. I’m always good for some.
@Starcade Good stuff, 32. Hope you get good results! Thanks for the technical information too. For the record, my TV is 37" and I have no idea what kind of lag it may have. By the way, I checked out etokki for those plugs you wanted but I didn’t find anything of the sort. I may just be retarded though.
I know I said that I will be up for games today but I’m going to have to pass. My back is acting up and I barely made it to work this morning. Keep me in the loop, though, for anything from tomorrow onwards. I plan on hosting on Saturday as I got something cool in the works.
Thanks, it’s probably cause I started cycling. Let me know how many you want so I can place the order. Might get a few buttons for my new case.
2 would be peachy.
btw, casuals at my place after 7pm
yeah if you play with your eyes shut everyday ,one day youll able to win with just your ears.
i know practice is mother of perfection…in arcade!
objection ! if most of the time its like that ,in this case trust me,those damn machine lags!
give you an exemple,do you remember i told i never play against gief, you know why?cause i can’t punish his SPD on arcade, when in console i have the time to take breakfast and go back punish him,but in arcade its just ,meh
the weird stuff its only in shuanging that i dont feel that lag probably cause of viewlix quality screen.
Also youll always find imput lag in arcade no matter what, basically im very familiar with taito so called typex+2 whose in fact just camouflaged pc with xp:theres a lot of factor involved in a pc ,memory ,hdd, even system.funny though, when i install SF4 in pc i have the exact same response than arcade.earlier this year ryu ma used to told me that he feels the game slower, but with time he get used to it.
Also those akuma ReadTheFutureDaigoReflexes plinkers guy can do that because they friggin play thousand of time on arcade, they actually can be better on arcade than console.
the fact that im salty came from 6 months of silence,6 months of laggy playing,in not a bad looser,i loose 90 per cent of time and dont complaint, but this ''Arcade experience ‘’ feeling that people speak about is just …
let me tell you a story about a guy called majid in far shithole called mauritania, that majid guy loved street fighter and played it nearly every day on ps3 and xbox on sd tv,one day majid was called by his rich friend that wanted to host some casuals, they played on nice hd 42 screens, the game then changed, ryus DP becamed 9 frame startup,cr MP cr MP were impossible to combo, boxer headbutt to ultra was always late, majid was saying to himself:at the end he was just a newbie, coming back to his place ,he basically downloaded all the guys with multiple perfect with ryu.
i knew about the 2 usb thing but so far let me tell you one thing:
SD: i do combos everything works.
Arcade:i can’t combo with dictator c LK c LK.
blaming myself?that what i have been doing for the last 6 months since i started arcade, but blaming myself dindt change anything i guess, ill see what will happen with ae in pc ,ill see how combos are managed in pc.
best luck for exam man…
So what’s up tonight?
I’m free. Yannis said he might be free depending on how he feels. Rod, no idea. Beyond that I know nothing. Got anything in mind?
BTW did we want to do s=diner stuff tonight, tomorrow, or both?
No go for me tonight, bros. Tomorrow we play at my place, start rolling in after 2. I’ll have to play from the couch though. Is it possible for someone to bring a USB extension?
Bad times. Hope you feel better soon.
