Street Fighter III:4th Strike

only way Q seems top tier is only and i mean ONLY when kuroda plays him

TM is pretty damn good too you know

If Street Fighter III got a 4 part it would be a bigger surprise then getting SF IV after 10 years of no SF. Still it would be for me much more hype then SF IV actually.:bgrin:

What the fuck is up with all you “no thanks” people :frowning:
Would you rather that SF3 stayed at the New Generation stage too? Every new installment of SF3 has been better than the last. A few more chars and tweaks to everyone who got the shit end of the stick, please.

I’m going to take a big step on the plank here but I really don’t think nostalgia is a sufficient reason not to update a game to its fullest potential.

Also Daigo told an interviewer that he thought that if HD Remix was released in the Japanese arcades, that it would be a huge hit and really popular. He also won the SB4 HD Remix tournament with Ryu, showing that the skills you’ve earned in Super Turbo have not gone to waste in that game.

Also, I agree about what you said about vanilla arcade SF4. They really should have put all the characters in and not divided the player base.

Some corrections I’ll like to see:

  • Chun’s SA2 having only 1 bar.
  • Maybe a little longer bar for GJ (kinda like Denjin)
  • More combo options for Twelve
  • Alex’s Air Knee grab being unparryable
  • Make Ryu’s c.mk have the same recovery as Ken/Akuma’s.
  • Maybe change Q’s hitbox? I mean, damn, everything lands on him

That’s about it for me.

my bad, i meant the same speed cuz i think ryu’s low forward is one frame slower than ken/akuma’s

If they did this, like what they did with mvc2, I’d be very happy.

they are too lazy at capcom.
they wont do anything except a straight port.

Does not need to be done. I’m not even sure Capcom still has it in them to make a fighter of 3S’s caliber ever again, they should just stick to expanding on their new SF entry - That one with the horrid art direction, insanely shitty graphics and music, that plays like a slower, dumbed down parody of SF2.

that attitude is so very old now.

you need to play 4 more so you can get over it and get used to no.4.
only thing that really could do with properly fixing in 4 once you are used to it being a new type of sf game is the slow speed.

as regards to 4th strike i think thats a little bit far.
a rebalance like hd remix might not be a terrible thing.

make gill a character that can be used in vs
(like seth has computer version and player version)
leave all mid and high tier characters as they are.
work on what are accepted as almost useless and/or low tier characters to bring them up to mid tier.

What, am I supposed to stop disliking something I thought was dogshit after a certain time because showing dislike for it is getting “old”? What’s the logic behind that?

Get over what? And no, I don’t really need to play any more SF4. I’d rather spend time with games I like - Once again, what’s the logic behind that? Am I supposed to “get used” to it just because it’s new? I’d rather have sparse competition on a game I like than lots of competition on a game I hate.

I’d also love for it to get a soul. Then again, I’d also love to shit money everytime I go potty, but eh, it ain’t happening either!

LOL Echo Black. I agree with you entirely.

BUT Capcom is smarter than I thought, as now I see that they wanted to appeal to the masses, bringing huge profit and insane life into this franchise with a game anyone can play and win at (well, almost anyone), and put back in their “classic” characters and slowly introduce the most popular characters through upgrades like their other street fighter titles.

AND since most of the original fans of SF II despise the SF III characters since they ‘replaced’ them in SF III, Capcom decided to do this game in-between SF II and SF III bringing in all the cast that came first while slowly warming the fans up to the third strikers (Yun/Yang cameo, Hugo in background).

Also why Ibuki, Dudley and Makoto won’t show up until at least next year.

I expect by SF V that Capcom will make it more ‘hardcore’ again (more options, more combos, faster, some form of parries, etc) while bringing in most if not all the SF IV cast and throughout the upgrades bring in all the SF III cast.

A SF III: Fourth Strike (or whatever they call it if its done) could be a great idea, but only if it still keeps the mechanics of 3S while tweaking the character balance slightly, and it acts more of a bridge in connecting SF III to SF V by adding certain characters for major story importance (because of SF IV) such as Dictator, Claw, and maybe Sagat and any other characters that are still after Dictator at this point. And obviously new stages, music, etc.

So I am anticipating a future SF title as SF IV is just not particularly my cup of tea.

I hope you realize everyone just completely ignored your post. They have just finished saying no buffs/nerfs and the first thing you do is give us your opinion on buffs and nerfs. stfu man.

4th Strike (I call it 4th encounter) imo should not be made.

I mean… its been like… 10 years. 3s is such an old game and its already so perfect. To me 3s sets the example of perfection in fighting games and the last thing I wanna see is them make changes and fuck everything up. I am all for 3s on PS3/360 with online and NO CHANGES.

Imo imo imo.

how about a re-release of third strike with just online

then after that they start making my idea
(widescreen ,some hd redraw, slight rebalancing)
for a remix/4th strike game?

that way there is still 3rd strike
and if the redone one turns out crap nobody will have to stick with it.

well it’s been even longer for ST and they added another sf2 game to the list twice. AE and STHDR.

:confused::confused::confused:

?!?!?!

lets be real, there are some much needed balance tweeks.
that and widescreen formatting would be nice. I dont want them to change the system or anything, but they need to release, like 3rd.5 strike:sweat:

Rather than a sequel, I’d prefer a new game, just in the hand drawn and painted background-style we got in 3S. I imagine a KOF12 ish game, but with SF characters instead…and also, I’d like if it had a smaller roster, and more new faces. Kind of like what NG was…I personally loved it.

How could that be better than a larger roster of new people?
